I like to see discussions and comparing and contrasting candidates for public office. I prefer to see positive discussions.

There’s a positive case to be made for Donald Trump, there’s a positive case to be made for Ron DeSantis, and there’s a positive case to be made for all the rest of the single digit Republicans who are declared candidates.

What I find frustrating , is that there seem to be quite a few Freepers who are saying they would never vote for Ron DeSantis even in a general election. In spite of what appears to be a strong conservative record, they claim he is a RINO and controlled by Paul Ryan and Karl Rove and all this kind of stuff.

I find it hard to believe that any serious conservative would actually say they would rather see Joe Biden win an election instead of Ron DeSantis. Yet there seem to be quite a few people here on Free Republic who have declared they would rather see Democrats win an election instead of Ron DeSantis.

And there are a few who say they would never vote for Donald Trump again for various reasons.

Of course all of you can vote however you like to vote. As for me I’m going to vote for the Republican ticket on November 5th 2024.

Mr high road desantis supporter... trying to guilt everyone into voting for da santis if the swamp GOPe rinos and left take Trump out.....

The swampy GOPe is lock step the same as the democrats...

After a month of mccarthy saying, and voting, on a debt bill that would at least hold the line back a little bit on spending.....mccarthy goes and gives biden everything and more, of what biden wanted. And most of the 'republicans' are gaslighting everyone, saying what a great deal it was.

There is no reason to reward or support the swampy GOPe rinos who support and have formed a uniparty with the left.

Then why don’t you address those individual posters directly instead of posting your obligatory lament to any article that is critical of DeSantis or raises questions about his electability? Even if you like DeSantis, his electability is an issue all voters should consider when deciding whether or not to support him, as it is with any other candidate including Trump.

This article was not about DeSantis’s ties to Ryan or Rove, but about a fairly weak turnout to one of his events that was being touted as much better than what it actually was. By responding to it as if it were, you’re essentially trying to change the subject rather than commenting on the specifics of the article.

I agree. Our primaries are open. Not rigged like the Democrats. That said, I believe Trump had his shot in '16 and '20. Time to go with someone new (DeSantis).

There are many Freepers who supported Trump in 2016 after having refused to vote for Republican presidential candidates in 2012, 2008, and maybe even 2004.

Nobody running for the GOP nomination has any claim on the votes of conservative American nationalists.

As events have unfolded since the 2020 election here in the U.S., I would make four points here that stack the deck very heavily against someone like Ron DeSantis:

1. I have come to despise lawyers in public office.
2. I have come to despise career politicians.
3. It's much harder to corrupt a billionaire.
4. Anyone who worked as a Federal prosecutor should be given the public respect one would give to a child molester.

THE END.

A vote for DeSantis is a vote for the deep State. I don’t care how you slice it. He is in their pocket and they can twist and turn him like a Gumbi. There is only one man who can save this Nation and that is President Trump. If you can’t see that ,you must be blind or a Democrat.
