A Key West businessman has been indicted on first-degree murder and other charges in the fatal shooting of a high school football coach’s son after the young man relieved himself on a wall outside a bar.
Lloyd Brewer III, 57, previously faced a top charge of second-degree murder for opening fire on 21-year-old Garrett Daniel Hughes on Feb. 13 in front of the young man’s brother outside Conch Town Liquor & Lounge.
Brewer owns the strip mall that houses the bar on North Roosevelt Boulevard in the New Town neighborhood.
An attorney for the victim’s family told Fox News Digital that Hughes urinated on the wall of a building that wasn’t even owned by Brewer.
“This is a violent murder that has left the family devastated and, frankly, the city of Key West as well,” said Stuart Grossman, who is suing Brewer for wrongful death on behalf of the Hughes family. “Garrett was well-known for his athletic skills and personality in Key West.”

After a first degree murder charge, this will definitely NOT become a trend.
The exact opposite is more likely.
American citizens will accept low level crime and disorder as normal, and our standard of living will decline.
We have a neighboorhood like that in Pittsburgh called West Carson Street. It is the greatest place on earth for the cops to write a lot of citations for public intoxication and urination. The women are especially lucrative since they do it in groups.
“Any idea how KW goes about providing a sewage system?”
Right there on the Key looks like.

“The reporter says that Brewer owns the building”
No. The reporter says he owns the strip mall where the bar is located.
The attorney says he peed on ANOTHER building.
Ooops, thanks for the correction.
Detracts a bit from the point I was making.
Now if that person was putting graffiti on the wall, I say fire away.
I hate graffiti.
The fact that the young dead man was shirtless catches my attention.
I lived the first half of my life in south Florida and worked in the alcohol business.
Except for pool and beach side bars, no hetero drinking establishment allows men to take their shirts off in the bar.
My first thought - had he just been kicked out of a bar for taking his shirt off?
Cool. I wonder if they’ve upgraded the amount of water piped into the island. 100 years ago, it was all metal roofs and cisterns to gather the rain.
For all of the homosexual reputation of Key West, I was there around 1980 while in the Navy, flew into the Naval Air Station, and remember being stopped in town and told to put a shirt on. I was told that I couldn't, as a guy, walk around town without a shirt on. Maybe because I wasn't homosexual?
I dont think people understand, law and order left the building decades ago. And Your number could be up for scratching someones car in a parking lot.
So the phrase " they didnt deserve to die" is not a valid argument, the pisser didnt act right, the shooter didnt act right, you got 2 guys waving their schlongs at each other in the middle of the night over something stupid and niether one wanted to de-escalate the situation!.
You could say " "stupid should and did hurt in this case".
P.S. I dont support the guy shooting or the deceased, that night they were both on a collision course with each other..Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
[Peeing on a wall outside a bar? It is very common in many advanced countries.]
At least advanced enough to have walls.
Correct...Road rage has arrived in ALL aspects of our daily lives. Sad to even say it, but keep your head down and out off the way.
Killer should be given back his gun...and sent to San Francisco.
When ya gotta go ya gotta go, and he went and departed...
Was the owner on Piss Patrol ? I ‘ll get those pissers ! Hoping to confront a pisser ? A loon and a loser. Loser pissing the place up, loon shooting him.
That’s because the post had little to do with this actual article. Unles that poster is commenting on facts not known.
Maybe an AI bot reply...
Florida Man + Alcohol + Firearm
I wouldn’t doubt if cisterns are still pretty common.
