Why I Oppose the Censure and Fine of Adam Schiff Congressman Tom McClintock

Why I Oppose the Censure and Fine of Adam Schiff Congressman Tom McClintock - June 14, 2023 The Russia collusion hoax is the single dirtiest political trick in the history of American politics. We now know that it was entirely concocted by the Hillary Clinton campaign and ruthlessly used by partisans in the FBI to affect the 2016 election and then to undermine the legitimately elected president of the United States.

Mr. Schiff’s active role in promoting this hoax is disgraceful and damning.

My suspicion on Republicans, who do not argue for the force of law, are compromised.

They aren’t cowards if they fight so energetically for the other side. They are liars and traitors.

See post 20. I will always say that is who they are; they were never actual conservatives that got “compromised”.

This guy, like Shifty-Shift, is aiding and abetting the enemy of the Constitution, the Deep State Cabal. McClintock's role apparently is as 'Controlled Opposition'.

All of them should be hanging by a rope for Treason.

The question before us is whether a member of Congress should be censored (sic) and fined for speech, even outlandish speech, during the public policy debate. We have gone much too far down this road and it is time we turned back. …
Playing leftist First Amendment games are you, Tommy?

No; that is not “the question before us”. Try reading Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution you swore an oath to protect and defend and are clearly intending to break, and pay particular attention to the clause that talks about “adhering to (the United States’) enemies, giving them aid and comfort”. And by aiding one of those aiders, you have joined him in his effort of aiding the USA’s enemies. Instead of rushing to Schiff’s defense, you should instead have been working for his expulsion (and more severe sanctions), but I guess, as O’Brien said in 1984, “There will be no loyalty, except loyalty to the (Uni)Party”.

I like Tom McClintock. I’ve voted for the guy for various offices over the years. He’s a man of principle, and I have little doubt that his statement is sincere. But the problem is that Tom’s gentlemanly, principled approach is in no way reciprocated by the other side. It’s an anachronism in system in which the other side is engaged in total war, without principle, without honor, without mercy. Tom’s a bit like an 17th century knight who expects to meet the enemy on an agreed upon battlefield at an agreed upon time to fight according to agreed upon rules... while the Dems are like the Viet Cong engaged in no-holds-barred, guerrilla warfare

I tend to agree...McClintock’s value is more or less zeroed-out. I don’t see a need to support the guy in the next election. Primary the guy with someone else.

Here is a his reply about Jan 6 when I wrote to him.... \
Thank you for contacting me regarding concerns over the events that occurred at the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6th , 2021 as well as the subsequent impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. I appreciate hearing from you.

The attack on our nation’s Capitol struck at the most sacred act of our democracy: the peaceful transfer of power. It is an outrage and a threat to our most fundamental principles as free people, but suppressing free speech is not the answer; holding rioters accountable for their actions is the answer.

In regard to the impeding impeachment trial of former President Trump, I believe that if we impeached every politician who gave a fiery speech to a crowd of partisans, the Capitol would be deserted. I did not agree with the President’s speech, nor did I agree with his assertion that the Vice President and Congress can pick and choose which electoral votes count.

The President’s exact words on January 6 th were, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” That is not impeachable. That is called freedom of speech.

I cannot think of a more petty, vindictive and gratuitous act than to impeach an already defeated President a week before he is to leave office.

For these reasons, I voted against the impeachment of President Trump. I encourage you to view my remarks on the House floor in opposition to the Article of Impeachment on my website here.

Again, thank you for contacting me. Please visit my website at http://mcclintock.house.gov to reach me regarding any issue that concerns you or your family.

There are just too many Surrender Monkeys.

It’s what they do. And they rotate to fool the rubes.

Lisa Murkowski was on-air going on and on about Trump committing crimes.

How many Dems have come out after Joe’s $10 Million (5/5) Bribe?

Tom is looking to make peace and preserve protocol while the Dems are looking to cage Trump like a dog for the rest of his life.

There just is no fight or self-respect in the GOP.

Sounds good but misses the point

The point isn’t free speech. The pint is the slanders and the damage Schitt has done to our system of representative governance and our free market of ideas.

He, along with the Islamonazi contingent in congress, hilLIARy, chris Christie, Romney, Bernie the Red, and more .. are corrosive to free speech —. Liberty cannot be sustained when public discourse is polluted by so much lying, defamation, deliberate distortion, and calls to subversion. They both hog and pollute the public square

I like McClintock, but he's way wrong on this one.

The question before us is whether a member of Congress should be censored and fined for speech, even outlandish speech, during the public policy debate. The entire purpose of this Capitol is for the people’s representatives to freely debate the issues that affect the nation’s welfare.

Members of Congress are already protected from what they say when in Congress. What Schiff did was purposefully and maliciously told damning lies about Republicans on the LAAP-dog media shows in order to impeach a President and influence an election.

Our oaths of office obligate us to defend this institution and to preserve the freedom to challenge each other in open debate.

Adam Schiff violated that oath numerously and egregiously. He should be expelled from Congress for that alone.

his veracity and judgment can be weighed in the balance and found wanting. There is no greater disgrace than that. We can only disgrace ourselves

Democrats have no sense of disgrace, shame, or honor. They prey on the false sense of reciprocated integrity of Republicans like McClintock.
