I will be at 3 full days of no food at 6-7 pm tonight. I was aiming for a 7 day water fast but realized we are going to lose a lot of food if we do (an oversight as we have bananas, strawberries, a rice dish I made, milk, some leftover chicken and I think 2 loaves of bread and some other assorted deserts and leftovers all which can go bad).
So I’m thinking about going 1 more day then do a full 7 day maybe in the fall after a tentatively planned vacation.

I fasted M—F every week for two years.
I found it much easier than intermittent fasting.

I’m not one for fasting but I’ve been eating smaller portions - just enough to maintain my normal weight.

I fast twice per day. I eat dinner, fast, eat breakfast and fast. I had weight problems beginning sitting down at a desk after I graduated college until about 10 years ago. Then I stopped all diets, ignored government recommendations, and laughed at research papers. I eat and drink fats (whole milk), lots of protein and vegetables. Probably the three most important things I do is I eat what my body craves, I eat in moderation and I rarely eat processed/packaged foods. Although, I do not give myself any restrictions in what I eat.
I lost 70 lbs in 2 1/2 years and have kept it off for nearly 8 years. My weight vacillates two to five pounds either side of 145 lbs.
I call this the old fashioned diet, as in when people didn’t diet or talk about diets.

Fasting for more than a couple days in a row is dangerous. I throws all kinds of systems out of sync and can damage you permanently.
Been there...

There are a lot of joke posts here. I've done 3 days numerous times, 5 days twice. Just water, Gatorade and a little orange juice.
My experience: First 24 hours are easy. Second 24 hours are pretty difficult, especially with bouts of gassy diarrhea.
After that, one can go as long as one can stand to.

This poster is down 90 lbs in 7 months by going 23 hours without calories, 1 hour with. Combined with low carb / zero sugar / zero artificial sweeteners / zero seed oils. Occasional 48 hour fasts. Very little exercise, just normal life activities. Anyone can do it this way, almost guaranteed. For me, 16:8 and even 20:4 did not accomplish much. Nor did low carb without intermittent fasting. But low carb combined with 23:1 seems to be foolproof and once you get your head around it and get used to it, not difficult. Good luck.

I’ve been doing some intermittent fasting along with a No Sugar No Grains diet. I don’t eat anything before around 11 AM, sometimes much later, and then eat two meals and some light snacks for the next 12 hours.
Down 80 pounds over 18 months.

I have watched many of the Dr. Jamnadas videos. Started on OneMealA Day in mid-December.
Very encouraged with the results. I have become something of an evangelist for OMAD and have a few “converts”. LOL
If you read the comments section of Dr Jamnadas youtube you will see a lot of people have been helped by following his advice.
BTW - one can also save time AND money with Intermittent Fasting. Very powerful way to have a better life.

Tirzepatide (mounjaro) will likely be approved for weight loss drug in the near future. Once a week dosing weight drops off like a rock. Little appetite. Loss of cravings apparently. The holy grail medication seems to be discovered

You don’t have to fast for days. Just one day per week works or intermittent fasting during the day. I only eat one or two meals a day most days. Many days I don’t eat from supper to supper. That’s a 24 houur fast.
