Treat Williams died unexpectedly Monday following a motorcycle accident in Vermont. He was 71.
SNIP
“He was killed this afternoon. He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off,” he said. “I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.”
SNIP
Authorities stated that around 4:53 p.m., “a southbound 2008 Honda Element […] attempted to turn left into a parking lot.” The initial investigation detailed that the Element “stopped, signaled a left turn, and then turned into the path of a northbound 1986 Honda VT700c motorcycle operated by Williams.”

I agree I ride.
Motorcycle riding demands riding very defensively.
It is true that MC’s and bike cycles have the same right away as other 4+ wheeled vehicles.
But no matter how much right away you have if a larger 4+ wheeled vehicle hits you.
YOU LOSE.
The law of gross tonnage or the lug nut theory what ever you want to call it.
the larger vehicle wins in a crash.
I have a friend who wrecked his Harley on gravel 30+ years ago. His doctor told him he would have problems later on. Today, he can walk only with pain, and he can’t ride anymore, because of his back.
Another guy I used to work with had his bike fall on his leg, and broke it in 3 places. He was off work for months.
I have nothing against them, I’m just glad, for MY sake, that I never had one.
They are cool.
Bikes are best in the country. Just watch out for deer.
How sad....loved him in Deadly Matrimony with Brian Dennehy.....Rest easy Treat.....
My doctor described a motorcycle victim he had seen.
Head and helmet shoved down beneath shoulders and heart lungs ect exploded out the front.
Said that’s when he decided never to ride one.
That’s funny because most drivers have to,and do,watch out for them.
A pastor I know was killed due to a deer/motorcycle combo on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
My boss quit and moved to a very rural area of upstate NY. A deer jumped out in front of him. He avoided the deer, went off the road and hit a tree. Luckily only a broken leg
Yup. You may have the right of way, but only if the other driver gives it to you. Looks like the driver of the SUV didn’t give it to Williams...
He had a solid role in The Eagle Has Landed.
In about 1982 I saw him in the Pirates of Penzance in NYC; and of late he has been in Blue Bloods.
A solid actor, what a loss.
I’ve had cars pull out in front of me a few times...once was really close. You have to constantly watch for the idiots when you are riding. Some people just do not look for motorcycles.

Cross-lane turning driver situations are extremely dangerous for a bike rider because a car that is staged to turn across your lane is just nanoseconds from placing itself directly in your path. For a bike rider, that’s likely fatal. You assume the driver who is stopped to make the turn sees you, but that is not always the case when you are on a bike. I rode fro years without mishap but those situations always put me on edge.
Are you saying it's the motorcyclist's fault? The idiot cager just pulled out in front of him.
Woman in small car gets hit by guy in truck who just pulled out in front of her. Was this really an “unexpected” death?
Pedestrian legally crossing gets hit by guy in car that blew through intersection. Was this really an “unexpected” death?
Your son or daughter gets hit by a guy in a car who was busy texting on his phone. A cause to celebrate?
Was in Mullholland Falls with Nick Nolte and Melanie Griffith.
Liked the part where Nolte’s character beats the stuffings out of the FBI agent (Daniel Baldwin) with a blackjack. Wish it had been Alec playing the part, tho.
Deep Rising is a classic of the monster-movie-action-comedy genre. It has held up well over the years.
I highly recommend it if you need to take a break from all the PSYOP/propaganda/MK-Ultra/woke indoctrination being spewed by the corrupt DOJ/FBI/CIA/Google/Facebook/NYT/Washington Post cartel.
Augh. I really liked him in everything he was in.
On the motorcycle front: I got into it pretty late- in my forties. The best advice I ever got was from one of my best friends, who rides constantly:
“Always ride like the rest of the world is actively trying to kill you.”
Prayers for his family.
“ In the TV show Everwood he played a surgeon who moved his kids to a small town in the mountains of Utah after his wife died. He’d been a lousy father and husband, obsessed with work. RIP.”
A good show many haven’t heard of.
Treat will be missed.
Nothing wrong with MOTORcycles. Majority of accidents are caused by idiots saying they didn’t see them which means they aren’t paying attention which in today’s world is anyone with a cell phone.
I won’t ride on the weekends because there’s to many idiots out and about.
“Some guy gets toasted by an INATTENTIVE CAR DRIVER and you call his CHOICE of transportation a derisive term?”
For the record I don’t think Nickarray’s post was offensive.
We liked him in “Everwood”.
And I never forgot him in a true crime movie, “Deadly Matrimony”, with Brian Dennehy (one of my favorite actors). Williams was the villain, and he was very bad!!
“The 1886 Honda Shadow 700 is a nice looking bike.“
Yeah but it hasn’t aged well, a bit steam punk for me…
