Michael Rennie’s The Day the Earth Stood Still was the best.............
In an interview many decades later, his co-star Patricia Neal said they had a very hard time shooting the movie because they kept cracking up laughing at the scripted dialog they had to say!..................
“A non-human species? Hmmmm, must be AI and how convenient is that? Considering AI “on earth” has just recently and hurriedly become a major game changer.
All’s well that’s Roswell.
100% agree!
What if the ‘aliens’ are actually robots. They could withstand a stellar long distance ride no problem.................
Jim tell Bones to put the toy away he’s scaring them.
Humans interpret things they do not understand in terms of current beliefs/technology.
Jacque Vallee wrote a wonderful book “Passport to Magonia” on this topic.
In the Middle Ages the “aliens” were “fairies” and “demons”.
In the 1950s they were “visitors from Venus”.
In the 1960s to the 1990s they were from “other star systems”.
etc etc etc....
“Like with Bigfoot, ubiquitous high-quality cameras have not resulted in an avalanche of high-quality definitive photos, but more of the same blurry snapshots.”
You might not be aware of it, but during the past two decades the U.S. and other militaries have captured the highest-quality optical and infrared imagery (still and video) you could imagine, along with other sensing modalities using classified advanced sensors from ground, air, space, and underwater. The recordings of these sensor systems are by definition classified, and would not routinely be released even if the subjects were non-controversial.
I, too, believe in the basically preternatural origin of these sightings but technology has enabled capture of all kinds of data recently; the era of blurry snapshots is long past.
My knowledge of these things is both direct and indirect. Discussion on military-oriented forums over the years has been one of the best sources of indirect information, with an amazing number of comments stopping just short of revealing classified techniques and data, but collectively enabling a keen reader to fill in between the lines. Actually leaked footage (such as the 2004 USS Nimitz ‘Tic Tac’ video) confirm earlier rumors.
Not necessarily related, but a college friend of mine had a well-connected father who was close to a fellow who worked in intelligence in the ‘50s. He said that speculation on UFOs was encouraged as a cover for US military testing. That might be why so many of these things are sighted in the US Mountain Time Zone.
Besides military cameras, there are consumer/corporate cameras covering much of the earth. The only alien-type behavior passed on by these are mainly the exploits of Florida Man.
Exactly
Or sensors - it could just mean their ability to see in all directions and thus move in all directions.... but I don’t think this described a mechanical entity. At least not from my Christian perspective. A non Christian/Jewish observer might think the early Jews were describing a spaceship with the limited knowledge in machinery at that time. Hence the recent conclusion from things like the show Ancient Aliens.
Dimensional travel, sure. From the spiritual dimension that exists but we can’t detect or see with our current instruments. I do believe we agree on dimensional travel ;)
Hell, imagine just having an iPhone in your 1976 high school class?
Of course, any wi-fi or cellular connection would be non-existent. But I could show them so many other features that would blow their mind.
“He said that speculation on UFOs was encouraged as a cover for US military testing. That might be why so many of these things are sighted in the US Mountain Time Zone.”
Many of the most famous cases are in the US Mountain Time Zone but if you dig a little deeper you will quickly see that the phenomenon is everywhere in the US and around the world.
That said, your first statement is correct.
I guess you haven’t read anything about the South America UFO “flaps”. There is UFO activity that is caught on camera around active volcanoes.
If you brought your IPhone back to the 1600s you will quickly burned by the locals—as a demon!
So, the trick is to separate the truly unexplained phenomena from the noise. I had heard that some serious equipment was used to check Loch Ness for Nessie, and the results were negative. That was a relatively easy one because the phenomenon was localized. Some still believe that she was there, but had died. A little trickier to check the whole wide world.
I fully agree. Especially considering the content of the films we watch and the music we listen to these days.
☺️😂😆🤣😜
