Transgender youth: 'Forced outing' bills make schools unsafe.
TULSA, Okla. -- Al Stone-Gebhardt worked hard in school to make sure he graduates in May, and he spent hundreds of dollars on commencement regalia, but he is fully prepared not to participate in the ceremony.
The 17-year-old, who is transgender, said he feared his high school, Tulsa Union, might use his deadname — the name he was given at birth but no longer uses — on his diploma and during the ceremony instead of his legally changed name. He has had teachers call him by his birth name, sometimes inadvertently, and said he finds the experience traumatizing.
“Being deadnamed just immediately makes you feel belittled, weak and insignificant,” Stone-Gebhardt said. “I didn’t want to be in the classroom. I didn’t trust the teacher.”

So the name your parents gave is considered "dead".
Sick, sick, what these lefties preach.
Teachers promoting this crap should be penalized.
Apparently teachers are required to use the new name, and are required to promote this crap.
So don’t attend. Nobody will notice nor care.
how about creating schools only for transgender students?
They can have their own teachers, curricula, safe-spaces, and padded walls.
The cemeteries at Normandy are filled with young men about this age. And his greatest fear is someone calling him the wrong name.
Smh.
Well, if being “traumatized” by being called by your given name, she must be one wilting little flower.
Tough. She (trans translator) should only be referred to by her birth sex and name. Teachers, administrators, counselors, and doctors should be jailed for promoting this abuse.
Welcome to the Twilight Zone
I know a man who started his own traditionalist/orthodox Catholic school about 10 years ago. It was in an area with declining enrollment in the many long-standing Catholic schools of the diocese. Teachers were volunteers whose day job was professors at local universities. They started with 8 students in an old, disused primary school rented for $1.
I thought "so silly. They'll never attract students."
Now enrollment is almost 200 students. Boy was I wrong, and I understand why.
Being called by the birth certificate name probably isn't the problem.
Fear of being beat up or killed by bullies after is probably the problem.
“Deadname” is really creepy, almost anti-christish, and that is what they promote in schools.
No responsible news organization would give this story a second glance.
They are overly dramatic narcissists.
He has had teachers call him by his birth name, sometimes inadvertently, and said he finds the experience traumatizing.
“Being deadnamed just immediately makes you feel belittled, weak and insignificant,” Stone-Gebhardt said.
Since this girl knows she changed her name, and even admits the use of her birth name is inadvertent, this is dramaqueen BS. People have real problems — this isn’t one.
And what, pray tell, sort of “commencement regalia” costs hundreds of dollars?
I feel sorry for any employer that hires this idiot some day.
“So don’t attend. Nobody will notice nor care.”
Don’t attend school? Unless you have some approved alternative there are a variety of penalties for not having your children in school. This is because the schools get funding based on attendance. No attendance, no funding. We’re not talking about a few bucks. Each school year for each student it will be thousands of dollars. This supposedly pays for the building, materials, etc. Mostly, it goes to salaries and benefits.
A few years ago a Florida judge threw a woman in prison for few days to teach her to get her kid to school. He had skipped a lot. My guess is she had no control whatsoever. Her first night in, she was murdered by another woman. So, yeah, the state is dead serious about your kid being in school. Not for his sake, but to balance the budget.
Don’t attend the graduation ceremony. No laws requiring that, yet.
I’m confused. Why is she concerned about walking the stage with her “dead name” when she can identify as a duck and fly the stage?
