A British team has reported hitting a major milestone...heating a nuclear reactor to the "magic figure" of 100 million degrees Celsius...The British company achieved the milestone using a "spherical tokamak" called ST40...Due to its design, the ST40 is "compact" ā less than three feet across ā and reaches around 13 feet in height.

By far the best I’ve seen in two decades!
Thanks
But, but if you vent all that hot steam into the atmosphere it could cause global warming, climate change.
BRILLIANT!
I’m wondering... Will one of these things be our modern-day “Tower of Babel” that will trigger God’s action...? Such a tower was basically the height of technology back then.
That would be getting off easy.
Could be much worse.
Imagine all living creatures on earth transported to a spot high above the surface of a desolate planet in the space of a few hours.
where’s that far side comic with the stages on the board and stage 5: then a miracle happens

Dihydrogen monoxide is the most abundant greenhouse gas in the atmosphere by far.
It needs to be banned.

It is a leading cause of respiration failure.
We also used it to torture prisoners in Iraq.
Need to boil water for steam? First, create a star.
The dream of productive cold fusion is constantly being promoted.
Tell me when a cold fusion plant is up and running. Until then, I don’t want to hear a word about breakthroughs or potential. Let me know when it is in commercial use.
I don’t believe it will be in my lifetime of maybe 20 years left.
Yep. If only you will send more money!
Iām hoping that they create a black hole that swallows the damn planet.
We can be sure that somewhere, some scientist is working
on it.
Get rid of the scientists and ask AI to do it. AI will be replacing doctors soon. So, why not? </s>

Fusion makes no sense on at least three levels.
1. There is no fuel available.
2. Fission is safe and uranium abundant.
3. It will be extremely expensive.
They got the temp up to the previous record of 99.99999999 million degrees and then held a Zippo under the test tube.
Great idea if it will work, but needs to be perfected. This is why any energy plan needs to include a structured transition with way points to confirm on target. The current plan of shut down existing energy with no replacement is crazy.
“Only 10 more years!”
That is what I thought until I stumbled into A huge party being held by Helion Energy for some reason which I determined to be a breakthrough in their Fusion Tech.
this was confirmed a few days later when they signed agreement with Microsoft to supply energy for their Datacenters.
