Quote: “A neighbor of mine gave me fresh eggs the other day. He has chickens/rooster/turkeys in his back yard. And not the only one in my subdivision. Its become very popular.”

A few years back our city council changed the code so people in the city could raise chickens but they have to have so many sq. yards of land (not a lot) build a shelter etc. I heard this year peoples chickens were getting infected with the Avian Flu. After eating store bought eggs forever when I had a fresh egg it was to rich for me. I didn’t care for the fresh. :-(

Quote: “Since I’ve left the train we’ve lost two precious cats.”

If I recall correctly you had an enclosed veranda on your house and the cats would play out there. Didn’t you also hang your Christmas tree from the rafters so they couldn’t destroy it?

Quote: “We’ve brought in a girl who would wait on our roof for us to come home. And a boy who lived under our old Ranger.” “One of his ears is clipped straight and we found out our city has a catch and release program.”

We have a group here called “Pet over Population” They take Ferrell Cat’s and they have a Vet who will neuter them and when they do so they clip the ears so if caught again they know they don’t have to be neutered.

As I recall didn’t you have a stream or something running under your house. Were you ever able to get that taken care of? And didn’t you make a trellis out of your son’s old Goalie frame? Did you get a plant to grow on it?

And as I recall also you did a beautiful water color of Birch Trees for your sister (I think it was). I hope all my recollections are correct.

Hi

Pretty good memory.

We now have two working pumps under our house and a fan we can control inside the house. One pump goes straight into a storm sewer...the other we have going out to the middle of our yard. If we have a lot of rain it can run into the storm sewer on the other side of our house. Remember I live next to a river. The storm sewer takes rain water out of subdivisions and into what's called Blackiston Mill that goes into the Ohio River. By the way, the neighbors on the other side of us now have some of the stream under their house.

I eat eggs and bacon at least 4 or 5 times a week for breakfast. My grandparents lived into their 90's eating the same way. The fresh eggs were much better. Not sure when I've ever had fresh eggs. I'm making custard with the ones left this evening. The family in the back has a very nice shelter for them.
