Tucker ended his show describing how during the Cold War, most Russians thought the United States was a third-world hellhole, because that’s all their captured media ever told them. Only a handful of Russians lucky enough to have shortwave radios ever heard a different story. Tucker said:

The US Government has managed to classify more than a billion so-called “public documents.” So at this point, we can’t possibly know what our leaders are doing. We are not allowed to know. House Freedom Caucus Gets Its Revenge for Debt Deal
There was a clash between Republican members of the House of Representatives on Tuesday afternoon as members of the House Freedom Caucus torpedoed a rule vote on the floor of the lower chamber, reportedly the first time such a procedural tactic had been used in years.
The vote was on the rule for H.R.463, House Republicans’ bill to prohibit the use of Federal funds to ban gas stoves, and it failed 206-220 with 12 members of the House GOP Conference voting against the rule: Reps. Andy Biggs (AZ), Dan Bishop (NC), Lauren Boebert (CO), Ken Buck (CO), Tim Burchett (TN), Eli Crane (AZ), Matt Gaetz (FL), Bob Good (VA), Ralph Norman (SC), Matt Rosendale (MT), Chip Roy (TX). House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) also voted against the rule in order to preserve his ability to bring the rule back to the floor for a vote at a later time.
The move to block the House from moving forward with consideration of the Republican bill was done as an act of protest against GOP leadership, launched by the 11 lawmakers to register their disapproval of the way the deal to avert a debt default was handled.

Human Rights Campaign Declares State of Emergency for LGBTQ Community
The advocacy organization Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has declared a state of emergency for LGBTQ people in the United States.
In a press release on Tuesday, the group said that the LGBTQ community needs to be more educated about their rights and to relocate to states with stronger protections for them, saying that the groups already in their states will not be enough to help them.

Kevin McCarthy Quashes Senate Republican Pitch for Ukraine Aid Supplemental Package
Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said on Monday a Senate Republican package to provide additional Ukraine aid in supplemental spending is not “going anywhere” in the House.
The Fiscal Responsibility Act set a $866 billion spending cap, which enraged many hawkish Senate Republicans such as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Graham and other hawkish Senate Republicans last week met in Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) office to figure out a way around the defense spending caps. Subsequently, McConnell and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) agreed to consider additional spending requests for defense and non-defense spending.
McCarthy that these lawmakers seeking a runaround the spending agreements stipulated in the Fiscal Responsibility Act “are not paying attention to how the system works.”
Graham said that this is a “shame” and vowed to fight over this. He said he will work with other senators to find offsets elsewhere to boost defense topline spending.
