A Pakistan aircraft was seized at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia on Tuesday over non payment of dues, a report said.
ADVERTIA Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 777 aircraft was seized by authorities in Malaysia over a lease dispute on Tuesday, a report said.
The aircraft, acquired on lease from Malaysia, was seized at Kuala Lumpur International Airport over non-payment of dues worth $4 million, ARY News reported. The plane was seized following a court order.
Years ago, a guy in Omaha sued Eastern Airlines for something in small claims court, what exactly I don’t recall. Ths was in the days when anyone could go to a gate so he took a deputy sheriff with him plus the judgement in his favor and waited for an Eastern plane to get loaded. The deputy served the papers with the instructions that the plane not depart. The counter people didn’t know what to do & it got to a point where they pulled the Chairman former astronaut Frank Borman out of a meeting to authorize payment so the plane could be released. My recollection was it was only for a couple hundred bucks.
PIA, also known among expats as Perhaps I Arrive.
Nothing like being on a flight and having the plane repossessed.
