The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Enjoy today’s cryptogram and have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
The author jumps off the page.
On the road not taken.
Yep
I did this only on my phone for the first time today using, cryptogram helper link provided. It’s much faster, but far less brain intensive and far less fun.
Your image is exactly what is happening in my garden as we speak.
Finally
I used to do these on paper charts and print them. I forgot how to do that. Can anyone help me?
Please add me to your ping list.
Try using “Hal’s Cryptogram Helper”. There is a link to it at the top of the page everyday. It releases you of having to copy the puzzle onto paper and the use a pencil and eraser. It does not solve the puzzle for you, just allows you to work it out on your computer or iPad. It also has a little chart to show you how many times each letter is used in the puzzle, which prevents you having to count it yourself, and that count helps you a bit because it is a fact that certain letters are used more frequently. You can google “how to solve a cryptogram” and read a lot of good suggestions. But the real understanding comes with doing a lot of them and coming then to recognize popular letter patterns.
When you get stuck, you can look down the page at the hints people are posting. And you are always welcome to ask on the thread for a hint, or private message me or whoever posted the puzzle. Just relax with it and have fun.
So refreshing to see a poem that actually rhymes.
