Pinging the conglomerate ping list, freepmail to get on/off this list.

BTW I get these guys’ articles in my inbox and I’m going to unsubscribe. But posting this here to see what others think, if they want to read it. Of course the first three paragraphs are about how qualified and great the two authors are. Their name turns me off for starters. A couple or so of their pieces have been posted before, can’t remember if others liked them or not. Re: DJ, serving and retired mil have pointed out big holes/wrong statements in his stuff, just putting my view out there.

There may be some useful info in there. This one basically seemed to go over the exact same territory that some of P.Patriot’s Devolution series went over, but they hate him and say he’s wrong but the article doesn’t seem to really support that he’s wrong. But what do I know.

Theory or Fantasy? Its Pure Fantasy
Understanding COOP, COG and ECG

The MAGA community must understand that Jon Hareld and Derek Johnson have profited from spreading misinformation and fictional claims. In addition, their theories, namely Devolution and the “Law of War Manual/Martial Law” theories, have caused unnecessary fear, false hope, and confusion within the MAGA movement. As the 2024 elections rapidly approach, we do not need these distractions and misinformation. We have a President to elect, and it is imperative that we actively engage in our community governments as soon as possible.

Our purpose here is to provide accurate information and clarify the role of continuity of government (COG), which is the core concept in both theories. Our focus today will be on continuity of government, continuity of operations, and enduring constitutional government. We aim to define their purpose, identify who these programs depend upon, and clarify the concept of National Essential Functions. These three concepts are specifically designed to address national emergencies and crises, ensuring the preservation of essential functions within the framework of continuity of government.

It is essential to understand that Continuity of Government COG and Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans exist within every department of the federal, state, tribal, and local governments as part of the National Continuity Policy. These concepts are not intended for “secret” missions or processes, as described in Derek and Jon’s theories, both of them. Although the plans within each department are classified depending on the nature of that department, the concepts of programs themselves are open source for the public to see.

all of this is JMO:

1. I’m also not keen to start of with a list of credentials. Propaganda technique: Appeal to Authority. (Plenty of “experts” were wrong about covid/vax.)

2. Trident University is pretty suss.

3. They spend way too much time arguing against J. Herold & D. Johnson. Propaganda technique: ad hominem attack. N

4. They misspelled Herold as “Hareld”. Significant? Or just a spelling error?

5. 17th SOG. Are the 2 authors really a part of 17th SOG? Or are they just using the logo? Genuine question. I can’t tell. They don’t cite it in their biographies, but they do cite other military experience.

I’m pretty sure the 17th would not condone an article like this - or at least not one that seems to be written by 2 random members and published unofficially.

6. On the plus side, they present some interesting information. I’m happy to listen to reasoned arguments on both sides of an issue. They make a lot of GOOD POINTS when they are not directly attacking JH theory.

7. I think they misrepresent JH’s view. As I understand it, JH’s view is NOT (necessarily) that Trump is still President, but that T turned over Presidential authority to another entity - maybe a small group of military officers?

8. People that cry “misinformation” all the time are suspect, IMO.

1. I confess that I listen to J. Herold regularly and I like much of what he has to say. (IDK who Derek Johnson is. Maybe I know him by his screen name somewhere.)

2. That doesn’t mean that I agree with everything JH says.

3. IIRC, JH presents Devolution as a possibility, lays out the evidence and the case for it, but does not claim that it is 100% fact.

4. That’s my position, too. I think it makes a lot of sense. I think it is a possibility. I think that it is one of several likely things that would logically explain what is happening around us. I also think it’s highly probable that JH has one or more details wrong. But that would not mean that the theory is completely wrong.

p.s. Just started reading replies on the 17thSOG article. They are more interesting than the article itself. I will have to make some time to read more of them.
