I'm still on the fence if we went to the moon. Trust but verify. We could've with the tech we had. Van Allen radiation belt could've been navigated with three Faraday cages. The ship, space blanket and suit. Though did we?
There is no way for us to verify without third parties trips to the moon. Which also can be compromised. They brought up lots of none sense. From a dune buggy and a large mirror that didn't work as indented. All they needed was coloring dying. Mix it with some soil on the moon and draw a large circle or something. Anyone with a good telescope could've seen the circle.

Though the easiest way
On a cool day take a pic of the distant object at the lowest level. Then go up stairs the higher the better and take another pic. Compare the pics. The higher you are the more of the object you can see as the ground or water will obscure the object. When you do it on a cool day you avoid refraction of light.
If the earth is flat the amount of the object should be the same from both pics.
