An IRS agent working on criminal tax probe involving Hunter Biden says the DOJ passed him over for a promotion and removed him from the investigation for flagging alleged favorable treatment given to the president's son.
The male agent, who has not been identified, filed a formal complaint Monday into what he claims was backlash he suffered for acting as a whistleblower into alleged unfair treatment.
His complaint comes days after the Department of Justice removed the entire team probing Hunter Biden's tax returns.
That removal forms part of the latest complaint, and allegedly came 'in retaliation against a whistleblower who alleged his colleagues were covering-up the president's son's financial crimes.'
The agent made his complaint after IRS commissioner Daniel Werfel told Congress in late April that his agency would not retaliate against whistleblowers.
The anonymous agent's attorneys, Mark Lytle and Tristan Leavitt, wrote a pointed letter to Werfel on Saturday demanding an explanation for the moves.
They wrote Werfel that after informing Congress, 'The IRS has inexplicably decided to initiate additional reprisals against these special agents, apparently for a protected disclosure directly to you. This is unacceptable and contrary to the law, which clearly prohibits it.'
'It was our understanding that although the IRS executed the reprisal, it did so on behalf of DOJ officials who had the motive to retaliate because it was the propriety of their own actions that had been called into question by the protected disclosures,' they added.
Lytle and Leavitt also noted that an agent under their client's supervision emailed him on Thursday raising concerns about the Biden investigation.
They claim that Werfel's office responded 'with accusations of criminal conduct and warnings to other agents in an apparent attempt to intimidate into silence anyone who might raise similar concerns.'

DOJ is corrupt, on orders from the corrupt president.
one problem here is the IRS is not part of DOJ but part of treasury.

Of course the snitch is a traitor. The FBI must protect the President’s reputation. The Hunter Biden investigation was a political operation which would hurt the President’s reputation so it must be shut down
The Republicans are out of control. FBI Dir Wray should be given an award for shutting this politically motivated investigation down! /sarc
