An autistic woman from New Mexico suffered 'torture' before she died at the hands of her caregivers, who were paid by the state to care for her in their own home, according to officials.
Mary Melero, 38, had lacerations and bruises across her body and bed sores so severe they exposed her bone when she was discovered in the back of a van at the port of entry in El Paso on February 27, as her caregivers tried to take her to Mexico for treatment.
Authorities also described marks on her body that were consistent with being restrained for a prolonged period of time, and she was alleged to have spent three days in a bathtub with her own feces and urine before she was taken to the border.
Weeks after being found in the van, Melero died at University Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, on April 7.
Three women were arrested and charged Wednesday with abuse and neglect following an investigation that began with the stop at the U.S.-Mexico border.
'The abuse and neglect that she endured was horrific and the injuries she sustained are among the worst I have seen in my career as a prosecutor,' Attorney General Raúl Torrez said.

I’m trying to figure that Mexico part out. Only thing I can figure is they were on their way to a hospital in Mexico when they got stopped by boarder patrol. If they went to a hospital in the USA they would have been reported for abuse but not in Mexico. No ask no tell down there.
You gotta do better at life than that.
That way they wouldn’t be extradited later would be my guess.
Sounds like the people who tortured her and killed her were democrats... so the effers at the FBI and ‘the press’ will hold a party for the killers. Maybe arrest the people who tried to save her.
Mexico doctors might not feel obligated to report the abuse...
