Stars & Stripes here still fighting the clothes moths...
QUESTIONS? When they are sprayed with Raid (in the purple cannister), they spurt out eggs. Are they still alive?
Also, I noticed they moths encases the eggs in a protective shield. Does Raid kill the eggs?
This has been a horrendous experience.
Since Raid is also toxic to humans, best to use, if you have to, with breathing protection, and wash the garments afterwards. People used to use camphor against moths, then “Moth balls” of naptha which is not good for humans either. I buy natural camphor (crystally powder) on Amazon and use that.
Pretty much a pesticides are very harmful to humans, usually or often they are neurotoxins.
I’m sorry for your moth issues.
We’ve been inundated with Miller Moths... think scenes out of the birds 😱😱. The larvae don’t eat clothes.. thank goodness, but they are just, well I turned the basement light on and went down and it was a scene out of The Birds lol.
But I have been reading about moths in general. I don’t know that I’d spray with Raid. I’d probably use dynamite.. ha teasing. Have you looked up killing the larvae?? Maybe call an exterminator?
I told my hubs that they had better go soon. I found Anniecat on the top of the balcony railing. Had a mild heart attack, told him if she fell and broke something.. it would be fixed!!! Anniecat is a great, albeit very talkative cat. And a thief. And a former beauty queen lol.
Re Moth infestation:
My gosh. This sounds like a nightmare. Death to🪰 !
Oh no! Still battling the insect invasion... I don't think Raid kills moths; not in my limited experience. Of course try moth balls to chase them away; on the eggs perhaps insecticidal soap?
See if there is anything useful here...
I was just on the phone with a friend and she asked me if it seems like there are a lot of moths lately.
I told her yes!!!!
Have you tried cedars sprays or powder? We’ve also used sticky traps with great success (but that was in our pantry)
