Thousands of years ago beer was discovered as a byproduct of food preparation and that was women’s work.

And if it had been left to women, we'd still be drinking fermented, cloudy, slightly alcoholic barley water (yeech!) out of stone mugs.

Perhaps, but one of the oldest written documents known to man is a recipe for beer, inscribed on a tablet in Sumerian.
