I’ve been watching the Trump vs. DeSantis showdown here and have a few questions. I voted for Trump twice, worked the phones and poll watched for him and am convinced he was the only one for regular Americans. He had the right policies for us. I have two concerns. He is supposedly a germaphobe and I think that influenced his decisions regarding Covid. He also didn’t have a team behind him. Many stabbed him in the back. How would it be different if he was elected for another term?
Regarding Desantis, I watched some of his Iowa stuff and he seems to say the right things. He may even be to the right of Trump on some issues. He also seems to have a good argument about what he’s done in Florida. He doesn’t have Trump’s suburban housewife baggage (who my wife of 31 yrs asked how many times Trump’s been married - she voted for him and we’re not voting for a Pope) but I’m sure they’ll come up with something to hang on him. I know that many have said that he’s beholden to big donors.
I’m on team fight it out for the nomination, After that, I’m on team how do you fix the rig and how do you win I haven’t heard any of that from anyone.
Trump put the head of BlackRock, on his COVID Advisory Council.
DeSantis’s communications director is one of the toughest people around. She’s definitely worth following. She may be even more of a bulldog than he is.
No, we did not.
Thank you, but I think you’re beating your head against a wall. They really cannot hear it.
The thing is that Trump won in 2016 by speaking the language of the forgotten working Americans. In 2020, it sounded more like it was about him, and the turmoil that marked his administration scared off a lot of suburban voters who had put him in office in 2016.
Trump locked down the country — initially, for 15 days, “while we figure out what’s going on here.” Then he attacked DeSantis fir re-opening too early. Trump is the one who empowered the dictator wannabe Fauci.
DeSantis was in the Navy.
Nor did Trump, FWIW. DeSantis was in the Navy.
And Warren, Wyden, and Klobuchar wrote to Dominion complaining that their machines shifted votes.
It seems to me that this should be a good opportunity to enact some realistic election reform so the Democrats don't think it was stolen and neither do the Republicans. (The Libertarians, maybe.)
I sometimes say that the first generation accumulates, the second generation consolidates, and the third generation dissipates.

“DeSantis won over Gillum in spite of Trump, not because of him.
He repaid the favor in 2020.”
There’s probably some truth to that.
Trump's candidate was a RINO (he was also a Pennsylvanian in name only if we're honest with ourselves), but Doug Mastriano was as MAGA as it got and he failed spectacularly (and I like Mastriano a lot as a personality). Kathy Barnette (whom I also like) wouldn't have won either.
PA is not about conservative or liberal, it's a machine state that wins or loses based on your side's machine turning out more voters than the other side.
To win statewide in PA you have to either work with the party machinery (which is largely neverTrump chamber of commerce schlubs), or you have to outwork the democrat party machinery by yourself, which is currently working so smoothly that they elected a stroke victim who, even in perfect health, was a lazy slob socialist.
That’s some serious revisionism. DeSantis wouldn’t have even won the 2018 GOP nomination without Trump’s endorsement.
He is the stalking horse for the Uniparty by opposing them on the key issues??? You live in a fantasy world.

“It was a total debacle and I’ve never been more ashamed to work at CNN,” said the anonymous talent. “I don’t think anybody came out looking good. This is entirely a corporate and management failure. They should have anticipated how out of control Trump would be.”

The outrage and weeping of Leftists over Trump’s stellar performance on CNN recently is really laughable. But take special note of that last sentence above because it reveals exactly how those on the Left view not just President Trump but every peasant who is not in lockstep with their tyrannical authority! WE, LIKE PRESIDENT TRUMP, ARE OUT OF CONTROL! WHO’S CONTROL? WHY THEIRS OF COURSE! FREAKING FASCIST MORONS!
1) Secure our borders.
2) Peace in the world.
3) Fairness for our businesses abroad.
4) Returning manufacturing to the US.
5) Equal opportunity for all Americans.
6) Energy independence.
plus that new one
7) Defeat the Deep State.
No.
As I said, Trump sent out guidelines to the states. It wasn't mandatory. Seven states said no to the lockdown guidelines as was their right. Florida was not one of those seven states.
DeSantis chose to lockdown Florida, and that's exactly what he did.
That’s all you have, lol. No comment about DeSanctimonious voting for the Trans Pacific Partnership. Free Traitor on, lol.
‘ 1968 and 1980 — Incumbent Democrat president is challenged by a Kennedy. Republicans win. The Florida economy is strong. DeSantis made FL red’

Interesting that you ignored other points in my post. Typical. Cherry picking doesn’t win a debate. Assuming you’re really interested in fair debate, I’m in. I have doubts though, I’ve seen many of your gaslighting comments elsewhere.
Addressing your cherry picked response:
“Republicans win if Kennedy runs”, it isn’t 1968 or 1980. Much has changed.
Only old people hate the Kennedy oligarchy.
Those under 60 don’t have that baggage.
The parties have shifted, rep are now more inline with blue dog democrats of yesteryear and dems are now authoritarian.
RFK is more like rep in some ways (especially compared to the current dem politicians, the woke marxists)
He is against vax, climate, censorship, careless spending, wars, etc. this will appeal to the middle and is not very different than part of the rep platform
The above is why I stated it would be more difficult running against RFK than Biden. Whether he would win, hard telling. Do I like RFK? No, I don’t trust most ‘politicians’. He is like a Tulsi Gabbard, often speaking common sense but very liberal at heart.
The FL economy is strong…….no doubt it is. My statement that DeSantis doesn’t have a background on the economy: I was referencing nationally. A guy in Iowa cannot experience a FL economy. But that same man experienced Trump’s economy. See the difference?
Too many DeSantis supporters are ignoring the ‘common voter’. Most don’t care, most don’t research, most get their info from commercials. My point, facts do not matter. DeSantis is actually more conservative than Trump. If RDS wins the general, the ‘commercials’ will paint him as authoritarian and use the legislation passed as proof. Granted, they will misconstrue it. The 6 wk abortion alone will alienate millions, especially women.
Support RDS if you wish, difficult to see how RDS wins the general if he can’t win the primary. My prediction:
RDS will lose the primary.
Trump will lose the general 2024.
4 years of democrat leadership
2028 rep primary will have some unknowns and they will beat RDS
RDS will not win the 2028 primary.
He will end up on Fox news as a commentator like Gowdy.
Bark at that all you like, it’s an opinion. Had RDS stated in September that he was or wasn’t running, he would have won 2028 even with the unknown opponents. His decisions exposed him and folks don’t forget. Many rep voters are sick of most rep politicians because they are liars and opportunists. DeSantis has been coy which is the opposite of forthright and transparent. And that is why he will lose 2028 assuming there are better choices.
