Mention of Bill Gates and Jeffrey Epstein Prompts Cut Microphone and Removal From Arena

During the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting on Saturday in Omaha, Peter Flaherty had his microphone cut, was arrested, and forcibly removed from the arena.

Flaherty is the Chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), which was the sponsor of Proposal #8 to “require hereafter that two separate people hold the office of the Chairman and the office of the CEO.”

In support of this resolution for an independent chair, Flaherty attempted to assert that Berkshire “would be less identified with Mr. Buffett’s personal political activities,” and cited Buffett’s support for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, among other factors.

This is concerning. A shareholder at a publicly held company was interrupted and arrested during the three minutes he had been given during an annual shareholders meeting to speak in favor of a proposal because his remarks displeased CEO Warren Buffett.

That action, incited by Warren Buffet, is only going to bring more attention and closer examination of the “forbidden” proposal. Unfortunately, Buffett is a Democrat, he said he started backing them because he was in support of their proposals for civil rights in the 1960’s.

Buffett’s father was a Republican congressman from Nebraska and a John Birch Society member.......an anti communist.

The big capitalists have never been ideological about making money, unlike libertarian economic ideologues who “work in think tanks” & have a “fairy tale” view of how the economic world works.
