Power and control are the aphrodisiacs of Castrogonia.

Here’s another article on hotels in Cuba:

Spain’s Meliá Hotels acquires three ‘historic’ hotels in Cuba, will also build new one in Havana

Translated excerpt with translators comments:
From our Bureau of Wretched Excess in the Exploitation of Labor

Spanish hotelier Meliá has a fever, and the only prescription is more apartheid hotels staffed by Cuban slaves.

These four additional properties announced yesterday make Meliá the largest foreign hotelier in Castrogonia. In addition to being exclusive enclaves where foreigners have unlimited access to goods and amenities forbidden to Cubans, all of Meliá’s hotels and resorts violate the conventions of the International Labor Organization.

Naturally, Castro, Inc. has refused to ratify 36 of these conventions, including collective bargaining, health and safety in construction, health and safety in agriculture, working conditions in hotels and restaurants, and violence and harassment. Click on the link above, see for yourself,

As in the case of Castro, Inc.’s slave doctors, the salaries of Meliá’s employees are taxed at an exorbitant 90% rate by Castro, Inc.

Aaah, the many joys of having no conscience, no regrets, no compassion for fellow human beings.

Meliá Hotels International has announced the launch of four new hotel projects in Cuba, thus expanding its presence on the island amid optimistic announcements from the Government to recover the disastrous tourism figures and receive 3.5 million visitors by the end of this year .

The first project to be carried out this year is the INNSiDE Habana Catedral, a completely new hotel with 50 rooms, which will mark the entrance of the Meliá INNSiDE brand in the Cuban capital. This hotel will provide “a modern and quality experience for guests,” according to an EFE report.

The second project is the addition of the historic Hotel Plaza de La Habana to the portfolio of The Meliá Collection, Meliá’s newest luxury brand. This hotel has 188 rooms and is considered one of the most emblematic places in the city.

In addition, Meliá will assume the management of the historic Hotel Sevilla, with 178 rooms, also located in Havana. It will join the Affiliated by Meliá hotel network.

Lastly, the company will manage the Sol Turquesa Beach hotel in Holguín. This accommodation, located on Yuraguanal beach, has 531 rooms and has a design that recreates a Spanish hacienda from the late 19th century.

With the addition of these new projects in Cuba, Meliá consolidates its position as the company with the greatest presence in the Cuban tourism market.

On the other hand, the Cuban Observatory of Human Rights (OCDH) warned in a letter to Spanish tourist companies with businesses in Cuba that the practices they use for labor contracting violate the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

“Every day that passes (and it has been like this for several decades now) the situation of Cuban workers worsens, and also the image of these companies, from the point of view of human rights and corporate social responsibility,” denounced the OCDH.

Sen. Rick Scott calls on Biden to stop appeasing brutal dictatorships and stand with the Cuban people

https://www.rickscott.senate.gov/2023/5/sen-rick-scott-biden-must-stand-with-courageous-cuban-people-end-weak-appeasement-enabling-brutal-regimes

Excerpt:

“Once again, the people of Cuba took to the streets calling for freedom, democracy and ‘Patria y Vida,’ and the illegitimate communist Cuban regime met their cries with brutal oppression, persecution and torture. Even in the face of this disgusting assault on human rights, the Cuban people are not afraid, and brave democracy activists are willing to give everything, even their lives, to reclaim their freedom. It’s time for the United States to recognize their bravery and for Joe Biden to stop his weak appeasement that only enables this brutal regime. The United States must be a leader in the defense of human rights, democracy and freedom in our Hemisphere. I won’t stop fighting and being a voice for the Cuban people until the Castro/Díaz-Canel regime is held accountable, and we see a new day of hope, freedom, and ‘Patria y Vida’ in Cuba.”
***********

Since his presidential campaign and into his administration, Biden has shown a willingness to return to the Obama administration’s failed Cuba policy of unilateral concessions to the Castro dictatorship, which strengthened the regime’s grip on power and resulted in an increase of repression on the island.
