Even in the face of this disgusting assault on human rights, the Cuban people are not afraid, and brave democracy activists are willing to give everything, even their lives, to reclaim their freedom. It’s time for the United States to recognize their bravery and for Joe Biden to stop his weak appeasement that only enables this brutal regime. The United States must be a leader in the defense of human rights, democracy and freedom in our Hemisphere. I won’t stop fighting and being a voice for the Cuban people until the Castro/Díaz-Canel regime is held accountable, and we see a new day of hope, freedom, and ‘Patria y Vida’ in Cuba.”

Since his presidential campaign and into his administration, Biden has shown a willingness to return to the Obama administration’s failed Cuba policy of unilateral concessions to the Castro dictatorship, which strengthened the regime’s grip on power and resulted in an increase of repression on the island.

I have always though that the cia ran Cuba ever since Castro came in. Note how he had zillions of attempts on his life but he lived to a long old age. A lot like other criminals the cia protected. It's likely they kept him alive in exchange for a piece of the pie and not destroying Miami which would have looked bad for the cia.

If they(cia) are still involved which they probably are they will be calling the shots.cia won't want liberty for the millions in Cuba now starving and some in jail,the worst of the worst jails. they will want status quo and so will the junta.
