Thiruvananthapuram: The row over controversial film 'The Kerala Story' continues unabated with many in Kerala and outside the state calling for a ban on the film for alleged fudged figures about number of women who converted to Islam and later joined ISIS in Syria. The movie's director has finally spoken on the figure of conversion of women.
During a presser, Director Sudipto Sen said, "You have watched the film, does the number actually matters?
The 32,000 figure is an arbitrary number but backed with some facts."
Sen said former Kerala CM Ooman Chandy had said that 900 girls were converted per year in 2014. "We have calculated and also added the number of years after that and arrived at the figure. But people in Kerala say that number is more than 50,000," he added.
"We had also filed an RTI with the Kerala government to give us figures of girls missing under each police station and complaints of conversion but we were given a fake website link which didn’t exist to check the figure," Sen further said.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan issued a statement and said that the movie was deliberately made with the aim of communal polarisation and to spread hate propaganda against Kerala.
“The trailer of the Hindi film, ‘The Kerala Story’, which appears to have been deliberately made with the aim of communal polarisation and to spread hate propaganda against Kerala was released last day. It is indicated from the trailer that this film is trying to spread the propaganda of Sangh Parivar, which has established itself as the centre of religious extremism in the land of secularism, Kerala,” said Pinarayi Vijayaa.
Women relish to be treated like sh*t.
I’d like to see this movie but it doesn’t seem to have an English version.
