NYC Eases Right-to-Shelter Rules in Bid to House Migrants Amid Suburban Backlash
In anticipation of a new influx of migrants coming to the tri-state as COVID-era immigration restrictions known as “Title 42” are set to expire, New York City Mayor Eric Adams issued an executive order loosening the city’s legal restrictions on right-to-shelter rules.
A city spokesperson said it was “not a decision taken lightly and we will make every effort to get asylum seekers into shelter as quickly as possible.”
City Council did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the matter. The Legal Aid Society and Coalition for the Homeless said in a joint statement in which they said that the executive order’s changes could “force families with children to languish at the City’s intake facility for extended periods of time, potentially days on end, prolonging suffering that no human being should experience.”
The Legal Aid Society and Coalition for the Homeless said they are considering their options, including possible litigation.
The news comes amid the ongoing battle over plans to house asylum seekers in the Hudson Valley. In Rockland County, sheriff’s officers were posted outside the Armoni Hotel in Orangeburg, where a temporary restraining order is in place barring migrants from moving in.
The city was looking to send a couple hundred migrant men to the northern suburbs at what the mayor’s staff would be an emergency-use hotel. But Rockland Officials said that would simply be subterfuge for an illegal city-run shelter.
“This is a renegade operation on the part of the mayor, and I cannot even begin to believe what’s going on at this point,” said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. “I have never seen such bullying and arrogance in my entire career.”
The smug elites with their sanctuary policies are reaping what they have sewn.

President Trump appeared on far-left CNN for 70 minutes last night and just might have delivered the killshot to a propaganda outlet that was already taking a ten count in the ratings.
Boy, was I wrong. Mea culpa, Mr. President. Mea Culpa.
And you cannot imagine how happy I am to be so wrong. Even if Trump did well on CNN, I assumed this would still be a win for CNN. Well, it wasn't. Instead, it was a catastrophe for the Hoax Network, which is why, right after the town hall; you could hear the tears of frustration in election meddler Jake Tapper's voice.
Last night, Trump put the t-r-u-m-p in “triumph.” He showed up with a plan, executed it perfectly, exposed “moderator” Kaitlin “Nurse Rached” Collins* for the mental lightweight she is, and charmed anyone watching who is not a humorless prig missing their “joy” gene.
Collins flew into that town hall on her broom backed by breathless reports of a big, new CNN contract by way of a big, new promotion to CNN's 9 p.m. slot … and proceeded to lay the biggest egg since Climate Change wiped out the dinosaurs.
Watching Trump reduce Collins to “that's wrong,” “that's wrong,” “that's wrong,” like a learning-disabled mynah bird dipped in bleach, had me rolling on the floor....
Always with the MEN ... with this invasion. ILLEGAL MILITARY AGED MEN.

All of which is to say, Trump crushed it and everyone knew it.....

Rockland has not declared itself a sanctuary city and says they can’t afford to take them in. I don’t know if that is the new definition of conservative.
Watching the Border Patrol step in and allow illegals in free past the barb wire and TX NG. I guess that’s Mayorkas plan against TX. BP works for Mayorkas and have authority. Yuma is asking for BP volunteers. Too bad Kari Lake isn’t the governor.

For what it’s worth — public nudity is illegal in San Antonio. The law specifically includes the bare butt, male and female genitals and women’s breasts as being illegal to show in public.
Conversely, an article from the Austin American Statesman notes that Austin doesn’t have public nudity laws.
