1) Motor vehicle accidents for "children" declined because of the lockdowns which lowered the number of miles driven.
2) Firearm suicide rates for "children" in 2020 during the worst of the lockdowns skyrocketed.
3) Homicides of "children" skyrocketed in 2020 due to the "catch and release" policies of Soros-funded big city prosecutors releasing violent felons to commit more violent felonies.
I think the uptick on both firearmss and auto that started in ~2013 is likely related to the big uptick in social media. What I don’t see on the chart is alot of other accident types outside auto, firearm, fire and drowning.
Note that drugs jumped significantly after the lockdowns as well.

They lump all causes together, so it will include suicides, accidents, criminal homicides and also lawful defensive uses. None of these categories amounts to a valid reason to violate a Constitutional right, but it is galling to try to do so because of lockdown-related suicides and catch-and-release gang violence, and is especially galling to try to do so because of lawful defensive uses, which amount to a reason to expand rather than curtail gun ownership.
