“ELA” English Language Arts, not to many of you folks around anymore, we need all we can get.
My wife taught Special Ed Pre School, I met a lot of her kids, they were darlins.
Her credential was for K-12 General Ed, she had to get a separate credential for Spec Ed but she decided she liked the little Special Ed kids the most.
I love my kiddos, especially my annoying, enraging little human who I’m paired one-on-one with. She really is a handful, but she can be hilarious at times.
My one issue with teaching — and I admit as a conservative there is a really strong case for taking away tenure — is that there’s no job security here in Florida. And I fully intend to vote for DeSantis again because he’s great, but I’m leaving education for two reasons. No security, and the utter catty b*tchiness of so many of the teachers.
It’s worse than eighth grade.
And my heart breaks because I have wanted to teach for so long — but the reality is pretty gruesome these days.
But I do love my babies in the enclosed classroom, and I am honored to work with them.
