Fox News ratings slump below MSNBC's in timeslot Tucker Carlson dominated - as former host's video breaking his silence is viewed by almost 70 MILLION people

Hundreds of thousands of once loyal Fox News viewers are leaving the network in droves following Tucker Carlson's firing.

Those viewers are apparently abandoning the network as they look for something fresh in his old time slot.

Fox drew 1.33 million viewers for hastily arranged replacement show Fox News Tonight hosted by Brian Kilmeade in Carlson's old 8pm slot on Wednesday night.

It put Fox firmly in second place to liberal network MSNBC's Chris Hayes, who had 1.38 million tune in Wednesday, in a competition Carlson used to easily dominate, the Nielsen ratings company said.

Carlson offered his own alternative to both Kilmeade and Hayes on Wednesday, posting a two-minute monologue on Twitter at 8pm. By Thursday night, that video has been viewed 70 million times, according to the social media site.

Fox's figures are down 56 percent from the 3.05 million viewers Carlson reached last Wednesday, Nielsen said.

Hayes spent around 15 minutes of his show talking about Tucker Carlson on his show and the fallout from his firing.

The discussion went into the culture at the right-wing network in the wake of Carlson's leaked texts with former Fox personality Gretchen Carlson (no relation) giving her views.

For all of 2022, Carlson averaged 3.03 million viewers, second only to Fox's 'The Five' as the most popular program on cable television.

Kilmeade had 1.7 million viewers on Tuesday and 2.59 million on Monday, when he told people who hadn't already heard the news that Carlson would no longer be appearing on the network.

Fox had better get ready for a “Budweiser” moment.

FOX has treated their viewers much like the GOPe has treated its voters for the past few decades. They go against the voters’ expressed wishes while thinking that conservatives will be upset for a few days, but get in line and vote as told come election day. The GOPe were proven correct right up until the 2016 election and they are still upset about it. FOX expects this to blow over by the first of the week.

The Murdochs hope the ratings will come back like they did when O’Reilly was fired. They may recover a bit but not to Carlson levels. They have disrespected the audience by not fully explaining their action. Many viewers have had enough!

Wow - that time slot draws at least 3 million for Tucker.

I actually like Brian Kilmeade, I have watched him all four nights, and he has done a credible job.

Kilmeade supports the Ukraine war, and I do not, so that would become an issue for me if he keeps the job.

Maybe Fox should give Jennifer Griffin her own show. That would really be a ratings bonanza. LOL

For me the “first straw” was what they pulled on election night 2020. I was angry over that, but went back eventually.
Firing Tucker was definitely the last straw. I won’t be back.

I like Kilmeade, too, but I have to draw a line in the sand. I actually like most of the people on Fox News except for the liberal leaning hosts.
It’s too bad. They brought this upon themselves.

This looks like a very poor business decision by Fox. But, apparently, they didn't want their brand to be dominated by a single individual who they deemed as living on the razor's edge. As to the razor's edge, Tucker was so "forward-thinking" in his presentation that it made Fox nervous (despite the fact that Tucker is absolutely prescient most of the time).

Imagine a friend who always tells the truth, but it makes people uncomfortable because, well, the truth hurts.

That's Tucker to Fox.

All that said, Tucker is his own network. He is just getting started. He is worth billions in discounted value (as 70 million people just proved).

Other than watching Tucker Carlson and the occasional segment on Gutfeld both on Youtube, I haven’t watched Fox since election night 2020.

Now I have no reason to even click on any of their YouTube segments.

Megyn Kelly, who’s strongly supporting Tucker, reported yesterday they have two text messages in which he referrred to a Fox VP and Sydney Powell as “C” word. She believes they’re out to “separate him from his audience “.

Does it matter when Deep State doesn’t care..?

I’ll get excited about anything Carlson has to stay when he starts breaking some news about The Steal.

Brian Kilmeade is way over exposed. Nothing personal against the guy other than I’m sick of seeing him - and listening to his high octave shrill voice.
Time for some new blood imo.
