> How’s that different from any other sugar?

Unlike sugar from fruit “HFCS and cane sugar have been shown to drive inflammation, which is associated with an increased risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. In addition to inflammation, excess fructose may increase harmful substances called advanced glycation end products (AGEs), which may harm your cells.”

Fructose IS "sugar from fruit". Sucrose is cane/beet sugar. Table sugar is a mixture of the two.

This narrative sounds like it comes from the artificial sweetener lobby.
