Tucker Carlson OUT at Fox News - five days after the network paid $787million to settle Dominion lawsuit
Daily Mail UK ^ | April 24, 2023 | Jennifer Smith

Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News, after reigning over the network for nearly a decade.

In a shock announcement Monday, the network announced his departure, saying his final show was on April 21st.

'FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways.

'We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,' the network statement read.

Host Harris Faulkner also announced his departure on air, saying: 'We have some news from within our Fox family. Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have mutually agreed to part ways. Tucker's last show was this past Friday.'

An interim roster of hosts will take over in his absence until a permanent replacement is chosen.

Carlson - who signed off his final show on Friday with 'that's it for us for the week, we'll be back!' - is yet to comment.

His departure comes days after Fox settled with Dominion Voting Systems which had sued for defamation, claiming hosts like Carlson knew President Trump's election fraud claims were untrue, but pushed them for ratings.

Dominion sued for $1.6billion and settled for $787million at the 11th hour, narrowly avoiding an embarrassing and highly-publicized trial where Carlson and other hosts would likely have been called as witnesses.

Among discovery submitted before the trial were text messages in which Carlson described his 'passionate' hatred of President Trump.

Carlson's show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, was the gleaming jewel of Fox's nightly line-up, drawing in 3.5million viewers every night.

So all they have going for them now is Gutfeld and The Five? Fox continues to race to the left. If they keep cutting their own throats it’s gonna take a long time to recoup that settlement amount.

I wonder if Musk is thinking network?

No they settled because they didn’t want it to go to trial. A trial would bring discovery and the truth would come out so Ryan and the Murdoch kids could not allow that. So they were willing to pay nearly a Billion to prevent it. Win, win it gave them a convenient way to get rid of Tucker and blame him for having to pay off the settlement because “Tucker help spread lies about the integrity of the voting machines”. That last part is the MSM lie that is everywhere today.

sorry, I mean RT, Russia Today, not RTL from Luxembourg. The latter is a respectable network.

Now Tucker can tell everyone how much he hates Trump finally.

This guy was always faking it, just like all the TV talking heads who pretend to be conservative.

Does ANY of this really negate the actual and VERY hard evidence that Dominion is a BS system, specifically designed to steal elections????

Hold up. First, the case was dismissed without prejudice. Meaning that it isn’t forever settled. Secondly, the judge approved the following: https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/65339680/97/konnech-inc-v-true-the-vote-inc/

> Settling the case was a moronic decision.

Um no. This was a shake down pure and simple, either you cave and get rid of Carlson or we will bankrupt your network.

Remember when the Senate Majority and Minority leaders commented on the Fox News and Carslon, wondering why Murdoch didn't stop him from telling lies when the Dominion case started ?

That was a direct threat, either you play ball, or we will bankrupt your company with punitive damages.

The information that came out in the discovery process was devastating. It exposed the entire Fox News operation -- all the way up to Rupert Murdoch (including Tucker Carlson) -- as a clown show that shouldn't be taken seriously.

Ironically, the only TV personality in the cable news business who has any integrity may be Rachel Maddow. When faced with a similar lawsuit for libel/defamation, she successfully defended herself by telling the truth -- basically, "My comments on the air can't be slander because nobody should take a loser like me seriously."

Settling the case was a moronic decision.

Agreed, but then again this is the "new" FOX, which is going into the dumpster.

Don’t think for a moment that the Fox/Dominion “settlement” had anything at all to do with Tucker Carlson leaving Faux News.

Instead, there is that matter of over 41,000 hours of Video from 6 January, 2021 that Carlson was given by Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

Popcorn time?

I have heard reports that indicate that Faux News and Dominion are largely owned by the same people (CCP). That and supposedly, Faux News has insurance for such “settlements”.

His 3.5 MILLION voters will follow him.

Viewership alone doesn't mean much.

TV ratings matter immensely in network television because advertisers are looking to sell products to viewers.

In cable news programs, the ratings alone don't matter because the big advertisers aren't selling directly to viewers. Nobody buys Pfizer products, for example, just because they advertise on Fox News.

Instead, major corporations advertise on cable news shows to pay the network to peddle the company's propaganda. So Fox News takes ad money from Pfizer, and in exchange, they get their hosts to promote COVID vaccines (or at least not to talk about the adverse effects). Boeing pays ad money to Fox, and in exchange, the company's paid b!tch Lindsey Graham has an open invitation to go on any show and promote endless military campaigns all over the globe. You should recognize the drill by now.

Before Fox, he was at MSNBC, will he go back to MSNBC?

Before that he was on PBS, and before that he was on CNN. Maybe he will go to those places.
