“What kind of damned world are we living in?”

Therein lies the answer. It’s always been thus, but satan is using the internet to poison our souls via “social” media. Add in the madness of the “pandemic”, which broke many people, especially children; it definitely took a toll on me, a somewhat well-adjusted adult. The vacuum of Godless souls has drawn in evil such as the world has never seen, and it will unfortunately continue to do so, and at an increasing rate, until the “end”.

I must say. I was, for a large part of my adult life, completely transfixed and in full support of the tidal wave of the information age.

I was one of the first people in my circle using a personal computer for real work, I was embracing technology as it appeared. I was way in front with digital cameras, MP3 players, and so on. (the only place I ended up being far, FAR behind everyone else was cell phones and social media. I didn’t get a phone of any kind, smart or not, until 2006, but only because I was forced to. And I was (and am) so disinterested in social media, that my friends created a Facebook page in my name titled “Where is rlmorel?” which I have never visited.)

But with all that, I have become nearly repelled, and anxious to the point of fright (to a degree) of the dependence by the human race on this wave of technology in our world.

Never mind an EMP from a nuclear weapon or terrorist event. We just recently had a solar event that ejected from the opposite side of the sun (away from the earth) that was said to be far larger than the 1859 Carrington Event that literally caused telegraphs to go up in showers of sparks, and today, would have destroyed huge quantities of electronics that we depend on for life.

But for the grace of God, it was on the other side of the sun. If it had been on our side facing Earth, we would be toast right now. Toast. And that isn’t hyperbole. Our cars, computers, information systems, cell phones, power grids, water pumping stations, you name it. They would have been rendered inoperable.

That makes me nervous, to say the least.

And this is all apart from an entity like Google (which is accessed and used by up to 4 billion human beings EACH DAY as the source of truth on information) wants to shape the information it provides to people to conform to what GOOGLE feels are the appropriate bits of information that should be provided...

I am concerned. I never gave a second thought all those years as to what dark side of things the Information Age might exploit, but I see it far too clearly now, and it frankly frightens me.

Winston Churchill once said in his “Finest Hour” speech: “...If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science...”

I now focus on the “Dark Age” and “lights of perverted science”, especially when I think of what the East Germans and Soviets did, what Communist China is doing now, and where we are going as a country, and it makes me quail.
