...Spinosad (horse insecticide) has the same active ingredient as Trifexis, for fleas. 1 Oz per 50lb of dog, dump it in his food with lots of bacon grease, wolfs it down. Incredible cost savings.
Do you have a suggested source for purchasing this?
We had a rogue vet here in WNY who scoffed at the whole heartworm push. He said there had been no known cases in our area for years. But I have all this IVM pony paste left over that I stocked up on.... so I will be sharing it with my puppies just in case.
Same place I learned about it lol. Local feed store. TSC probably has it but your rural feed store will for sure.
A local horse lady realized the ingredient was the same, not sure how they arrived at the dosage for dogs, but it hasn’t hurt my dogs and it eliminates the fleas, I only give it to them when they get fleas, every few months, haven’t found it necessary to dose them every month.
I was wrong. It’s not a horse med. I looked at the bottle it’s a lawn and garden insecticide, made from a natural soil ingredient, Spinosad is actually the active ingredient in Comfortis pills for dogs, and it was a local horse lady who turned the neighborhood on to using it instead of the expensive pills.
Here is the bottle I use, and I do get it at the local feed store.
