The answer isn’t reparations. The communities with the crime problem have to take control of themselves. Tolerance for feral behavior and low expectations allow these violent thugs to rule and terrorize neighborhoods. The problem is in the home, at the school, in the churches… it’s fear.
It’s not a unique concept that common people living in fear want to regain control and peace but cannot due to law enforcement failures, corruption or incompetence.
In the 1960 classic western the Magnificent Seven a town hires gunmen to regain control. There was another in the 90s, Quick and the Dead, where townsfolk too afraid of Gene Hackman’s character hire a gunman who fails. Sharon Stone’s character, avenging her father, succeeds.
Isn’t it an old adage, “for evil to triumph, good men only need to do nothing?”
If they get their way, the day will come when nobody will be allowed to move from where they live without permission.
