The citizens of some states got laws passed that restricted pharmacies from reporting back to doctors whether or not the prescription was filled with a generic drug in order to disincentivize kickbacks to the doctor.

The laws passed but the courts threw them out because... big pharma.

Only a fool or an complete liar would deny kickbacks to doctors.
