I wasnt focused on appliances as much as layout and cabinets.

I would keep older appliances that are good brands working as long as possible, because they are made much better than new ones today. New appliances have smaller compressors and components that fail faster because they run more often. Computer panels and sensors fail frequently and are major points of failure.

Good points, all.

I am holding out for Wolf, Sub-Zero and/or Cove appliances.

Sub-Zero brand was made in Madison, WI, but I’m not sure who owns who these days, with the combination of names/brands.

Until then, I’ll keep lighting the burners with matches and when I put something in the oven, I’ll hope for the best, LOL!

We bought a floor model Maytag fridge/freezer 5 years ago, and so far I’m pleased with it. It really keeps fruits and veggies fresher longer. But, the ice maker died a few months in, so I have to make ice cubes LIKE AN ANIMAL!

(It’s not THAT bad!)
