It sucks but it is what it is. Us nephews lost an uncle after he saw us discussing Col Vindman’s treason. The uncle couldn’t believe we would discuss a US serviceman like that.
Not that we didn’t try to send him info on why we believed that, he just ignored it all & doesn’t have anything to do with us anymore. He served in Vietnam but can’t see the same tyranny happening in his own country. Crazy times.

I have one like that, too. He has been conservative all his life, but he absolutely hates Trump and will not listen to his wife, his siblings, or anyone. It’s like a switch has flipped with him and he goes nuts (almost foaming at the mouth) at the mention of Trump. I have no idea where all the hatred and venom comes from, much less the idiocy.
Now he has dug in so deep, I think it’s a matter of “principle” for him that he won’t back down. “saving face” or something.
