Heather McGhee’s book The Sum of Us reveals her muddled thinking and hypocrisy on race and ethnicity.
Wanting to study modern leftist thought, I decided to read Heather McGhee’s bestseller The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together. After all, it was festooned with blurbs by the likes of The New York Times, Oprah Daily, George Saunders, Ibram X. Kendi, Robert B. Reich, and David Axelrod.
In her book, she argues that most American Whites are racists who believe in a zero-sum paradigm: if people of color gain, then Whites lose. As a consequence, Whites prevent POC from succeeding, and the top 1% benefit from racial strife while other Americans of all races and ethnicities lead stunted lives full of misery and woe. Regular Whites can demolish the paradigm and the suffering it causes by joining with POC in social solidarity and spending more government money, especially on POC. (I am not sure how calling someone a racist encourages that person to ally with the name caller, but I will let that pass.)
Has Heather McGhee spent her life staggering through this bleak American landscape that brutalizes almost everyone? Let us see.
McGhee’s parents divorced when she was young — her father started a new family while her mother, her brother, and she lived with financial challenges. She had four strikes against her (one more than in baseball): she was Black; she was female; she was raised in a single-parent household; and she was a member of the “fragile middle class” which lacked “nice things”. But was she out? Not at all.
Her parents sacrificed to pay for her attendance at an outstanding boarding school where she encountered “loving teachers.” After graduating, she earned degrees from Yale and Berkeley Law

It is the left that uses the zero-sum mentality. If they rejected the zero-sum mentality, they wouldn’t be trying to incite their base to viciousness.

” liberal thought” is an oxymoron (or is it a “contradiction in terms”. Look up “liberal”...they ain’t that. “Liberal” has come to define “lack of thought” in that context. Just like those ugly cars you see on the road painted battleship gray lack color.

I know a lot of America Whites and none of them are racist nor do they believe that success by black people will have a negative effect on them. Actually, everyone thinks that successful black people will make America richer for all of us.
This woman is creating a problem where none existed...and, apparently, she's filled with hate.
Hateful people have bitter lives. And I'll bet she has bad breath too.;-)
Another talentless black liberal whose achievements are not based on merit, but what she looks like.
So, she hates herself as she knows she is a fraud, and she manifests her hatred against the people who put her where she is in life knowing she is always going to be known as a sock puppet and not a real person.

Zero-sum thinking comes from Marxism, where all profits are stolen from the workers.
I am better off with a black teacher and engineer moving in next to me, and competing for middle class jobs, than if those same two people were living a ghetto life, net negatives.on society, IF the following conditions are met:
1) they do their jobs well - they aren’t diversity hires over more qualified people
2) they don’t have ghetto relatives over
3) they don’t have a chip on their shoulder about race. Sure speak up about real racism, don’t have everyone walking on eggshells about microaggressions
4) they don’t play loud rap music. Any loud music, but especially rap.
White people aren’t worried about a zero sum game with fair competition from blacks. They are worried about being sandbagged by affirmative action against them; they have well- founded fears about crime based on history and experience; they are concerned by cultural differences and expectations large enough to damage the social fabric of a neighborhood.
She’s bitter, because she knows her position was not from merit, but from affirmative action getting her into college.
Her entire career is based on fostering white guilt over imaginary racism.
I always say that I have eyes to see. I can see if you are black, white so-called Hispanic brown or Asian yellow. It is when you start to talk that I see the inner you.
I can only imagine what life would be like for whites if they were just 12% of the population.
Just following in Obama's footsteps.
