Chicago elects a new mayor who defended looting

The term in office of Lori Lightfoot, defeated with an ignominious third place finish in the primary in large part because of public disgust over crime, may soon be regarded as the good old days.

Not quite one-third of registered voters (33.2%) bothered to vote in Tuesday’s election for the next mayor of Chicago, and the non-voting two thirds may soon regret their electoral passivity. Brandon Johnson, a far-left radical, has won the race with a 2.8% margin at the latest count, and thanks to his anti-police stance, the crime wave driving businesses and residents out of the city will only get worse.

Andy Ngo highlights Mayor-elect Johnson’s anti-police rhetoric: [Tweet:]

Leftist @Brandon4Chicago has won the Chicago mayoral election against moderate Democrat Paul Vallas. Johnson calls for removing law enforcement from society. During the 2020 riots, he defended looters, saying they were lashing out against racism. Chicago’s violent crime has…

Something is hinkey here. I've never seen democrats vote in a manner thats the direct opposite of their stated interests. I would really like to see how voters which wanted safer neighborhoods, better schools, less crime, and more economic prosperity, would have made such a demonstrably opposite selection for mayor?

Something is very wrong in the whole thing?

This is the country of my birth and I may have to live here because it’s obviously where my roots have been put down BUT I do not identify with this country or a majority of its people. Don’t feel as if I belong. I would love to be a Hungarian and able to call Victor Orban my leader.
