The term in office of Lori Lightfoot, defeated with an ignominious third place finish in the primary in large part because of public disgust over crime, may soon be regarded as the good old days.
Not quite one-third of registered voters (33.2%) bothered to vote in Tuesday’s election for the next mayor of Chicago, and the non-voting two thirds may soon regret their electoral passivity. Brandon Johnson, a far-left radical, has won the race with a 2.8% margin at the latest count, and thanks to his anti-police stance, the crime wave driving businesses and residents out of the city will only get worse.

Same here. I moved from a metro area to rural TN 11 months ago, and seldom return to high- or medium- population areas now. I've returned to a metro area only two times since moving, and that was just to visit SAMS to add to my emergency stockpiles.

The TV series “Boss” starring Kelsey Grammer as the mayor, was a ‘fictitious’ portrayal of the lies and corruption that is Chicago democRAT politics. If the mayor character played by Grammer was instead a black marxist you wouldn’t be able to tell the TV show from reality. No wonder the democRATs put so much pressure on Starz to cancel the series after only 2 seasons.

Same. Went my first time with a job where the entire staff was visiting a major supplier for our product there (2009.) We actually stayed in one of the more subdued suburbs west of the city, but I wasn't impressed when we went into town. They were having some kind of "gay games" event at the time.
