I don’t recall any reference in scripture to the Ark of the Covenant having a role in the End Times.
I don’t know if it would have a role either, but it validates Judaism’s claim on the Mount and invalidates Islam’s claim on the Mount if they can validate the Ark.
A lot of conversions in Islam are just waiting for the right miracle.
...rebuilding the Temple, perhaps.
2 Maccabees 2
5 Jeremiah came and found a cave-dwelling, and he brought there the tent and the ark and the altar of incense; then he sealed up the entrance. 6 Some of those who followed him came up intending to mark the way, but could not find it. 7 When Jeremiah learned of it, he rebuked them and declared: “The place shall remain unknown until God gathers his people together again and shows his mercy. 8 Then the Lord will disclose these things, and the glory of the Lord and the cloud will appear, as they were shown in the case of Moses, and as Solomon asked that the place should be specially consecrated.”
Revelation mentions the Ark as being in heaven (11:19)
“19Then the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple. And there were flashes of lightning, and rumblings, and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.”
People disagree, I’ve read, whether the Revelation account is some sort of spiritual Ark...the Spiritual Arch Type reality of the Physical Mosaic ark that may still be upon the Earth.
I’m not sure what I believe about it all. I would be curious, if the true Mosaic ark is here on earth, whether or not it would still kill some one if they touched it in an unclean state, or whether that stopped just as soon as God split the temple veil in two upon Jesus’ death(okay an Earthquake but you and I know who really split the veil, even by several degrees of separation.) Ok a sort of “spiritual” geeky esoteric question that doesn’t matter very much.
