We have a few dear friends w/T2D...and, have gently suggested a few of the above. Seems to fall on deaf ears. We don't say anything, anymore....we just try to lead by example (diet wise).
I’m about the only person in my mother’s side of the family that hasn’t gotten diabetes. I’ve had IBS most of my life and excessive carbs irritates it for me, so I normally eat more protein and fat than carbs, and I think that may be the reason I avoided getting it. Didn’t hurt in any event. My sister was on insulin and was supposed to adhere to diet but had a hard time sticking to it. She ended up losing both legs and very bad health problems due to it. She has passed over now.
