King Charles laid a black and red wreath with the inscription "In everlasting remembrance" and the Queen Consort Camilla laid a white rose on the steps beside it.

They were accompanied by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, on a state visit that has sought to acknowledge the past but commit to a stronger future partnership.

The roofless church is now only a skeleton of its former self, but it had been designed by the English architect, George Gilbert Scott.

The same architect had designed the Albert Memorial in London, built in honour of the King's German ancestor Prince Albert.

If they wanted to do something meaningful, they could end the European and US fueled war in Ukraine.

From the BBC:

“At this moment something snapped in a neighbour and, caught up in a panic, he took his bed cover and wanted out.

“None of us could stop him. We saw him still, but only as a living torch carried by the firestorm, ‘flying through the air’.”

She said: “We came out... into a thundering, blazing hell. The streets were burning, the trees were burning and the tops of them were bent [by the wind] right down to the street.

“Burning horses out of the Hertz hauling business ran past us. The air was burning; simply everything was burning.”

When I see “King Charles”, my brain says “WHO?”

I will never get used to that incompetent idiot being the King of England.

Long live the Queen...in Paradise.

Warsaw 1945, so excuse me if I shed no tears for German cities being bombed.

To call King Charles incompetent and an idiot shows you know nothing about him or his achievements.

I’ll just say from German public TV coverage....King Charles was treated like some visit from the Pope or Obama. Everyone seemed to Brit-loving and all charmed up. The bad-boy BREXIT attitude? Gone completely.

I would agree...it seems like a Bitburg-moment.

You would’ve complained when soldiers from the North and South got together to honor their dead and celebrate the peace

Thank you for posting that. I hope we never see such a horrible war again. I know the Japanese & the Germans were the aggressors, but I can also shudder at what their people went through.

I’m married to a Brit and know quite a bit about Charles. Yes, he is essentially an inbred, blithering idiot who champions the fake “Climate Catastrophe.” I will say though that I was happy to see him cut the nuts off of his non-son Harry and the pedophile “Prince” Andrew.

Some people have realized that mourning and praying together - for one’s loved ones - may be a step towards a more peaceful future.

So be it. Amen.

Thank you for your wonderful words, and to Mr. Griffin, too :-)

In the immortal words of General MacArthur: “Let us pray that peace be now restored to the world, and that God will preswerve it always.”

Amen.

Sorry, it was supposed to read “preserve” not “preswerve”. My eyes are getting old, after all...
