Steve; IIRC when we crossed the galactic plane and lost the screening provided by the local Cloud (several molecules of H and dust per square yard) with the result that we have started to experience higher levels of Gamma and other radiation.

Odder solar cycles? More Volcanos and thunderstorms? Probably nothing really good.

I know we entered the more dense area of the cloud. I didn't know it was related to crossing the galactic plane. Do you have anything on the crossing?

Couple of links worth noting:
Dust in the solar system most dust coming from top down

60Fe/53Mn ionization found in extraterrestrial dust

The dust gets thicker as we enter.

Video on the local bubble. If I'm right this video is very wrong about the origin because it's not a bubble it's a large doughnut shape. Around a star called Alcyone or the spine of Taurus(hint on the religious relation to the cabal)

"the 7 sisters of the Pleiades (from Plato)... (ignore the text referencing what we know today)... more than half of the stars in the Pleiades stars are thought to be in a binary system"
With the primary star being Alcyone
