Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg Admits He Used Federal Funds in Trump Investigation

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg confirmed he used federal funds in his investigation into Trump’s so-called ‘hush payment’ to porn star Stormy Daniels.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and House Administration Committee Chair Bryan Steil last week launched an investigation into DA Alvin Bragg, accusing him of abusing his power.
Last Monday the three House GOP lawmakers sent Bragg a letter demanding testimony and documents related to his investigation into the ‘hush payment’ after Trump said his arrest was imminent.
Bragg fired off a nasty reply letter earlier this week – and the House Republicans hit back again in their relentless quest to hold Bragg accountable.
Alvin Bragg replied to the House Republicans again on Friday.
As TGP’s Kristinn Taylor reported, Bragg on Friday pushed back against House Republicans’ efforts to investigate his prosecution of President Trump with a scathing letter.
Alvin Bragg accused House Republicans of collaborating with Trump to “vilify” prosecutors and judges.
The Soros-backed Manhattan DA also admitted his office indeed used federal funds in his bogus investigation into Trump.
“Our review of the Office’s records reflect that, of the federal forfeiture money that the Office helped collect, approximately $5,000 was spent on expenses incurred relating to the investigation of Donald J. Trump or the Trump Organization.” Bragg’s office wrote to GOP Reps. Jim Jordan, Steil, and Comer.
“These expenses were incurred between October 2019 and August 2021. Most of those costs are attributed to the Supreme Court case, Trump v. Vance—subpoena-related litigation in which the DA’s Office prevailed and which led to the indictment and conviction of Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg and two Trump organizations. No expenses incurred relating to this matter have been paid from funds that the Office receives through federal grant programs.” Bragg’s office said.

All is OK, many thanks for thinking of me. The fire nearest to me (around 8 or 9 miles away) was fortunately eastbound, and so moving away. It wasn't nearly as massive as the Logan County fire, so the local firefighters from 2 or 3 of the little towns around here worked together and got it in hand fairly quickly.
Now all we have to do is get through Sunday-Monda-Tuesday, and hopefully we'll be in the clear fire-wise for a little while.

Soros Releases Unprecedented Statement On Manhattan DA Bragg

Liberal billionaire George Soros issued a rare statement this week and is attempting to distance himself from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg after former President Donald Trump was indicted on Thursday by a grand jury.
“As for Alvin Bragg, as a matter of fact, I did not contribute to his campaign and I don’t know him,” Soros told Semafor. “I think some on the right would rather focus on far-fetched conspiracy theories than on the serious charges against the former president.”
In May 2021, Soros donated $1 million to the Color of Change PAC, which, shortly after receiving the donation, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars backing Bragg’s campaign.
“Federal Election Commission records show that Soros’ donation was the largest the Color of Change PAC received throughout the 2022 election cycle and ultimately made up roughly 25 percent of the $3.9 million the group hauled in,” Fox News reported.
Fox News added:
The financier’s district attorney operation usually involves his longtime treasurer, Whitney Tymas, establishing political action committees in states where he targets the races. Once set up, he injects money into the PACs, which tend to spend at least hundreds of thousands of dollars backing his preferred candidates.
Meanwhile, Soros’ family members did directly back Bragg’s campaign. Soros’ son, Jonathan Soros, and Jonathan’s wife, Jennifer Allan Soros, donated directly to Bragg’s committee, Fox News Digital previously reported.
Jonathan Soros sent a $10,000 check to the now-district attorney’s coffers on April 26, 2021, state filings show. Three days later, on April 29, Jennifer Allan Soros added a $10,000 contribution to the campaign. While other individuals provided more direct cash to his committee, the couple were among the field of some of its biggest donors. The contributions were also uncommon for the pair, as they generally do not get financially involved with district attorney races, though they have donated to other New York political campaigns and issue groups.

Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz delivered a big update late on Thursday night after he had a phone call with former President Donald Trump.
During an interview on Fox News, Gaetz and host Laura Ingraham spoke about Trump being indicted by a Manhattan grand jury. The case involves Trump’s alleged role in hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election, allegedly to keep Daniels quiet about an affair the two of them had in 2006.
“Remember Soros gave Alvin Bragg a million dollars. We’re used to seeing these things. Government printing money till it goes out of style in third world countries and that’s being visited in the United States of America. I spoke with President Trump moments ago and he’s resolute and concerned about what this does to America’s brand around the world,” Gaetz said.
“We will wake up in a very different America because we can no longer have moral authority against the dictators who would always find it easier to jail their political rivals than to compete against them in free and fair elections. I remember my Democrat colleagues about Comey making derogatory comments about Clinton before the election. This must ring a thousand times louder to them. I believe there are federal equities at play that the United States Congress is about to evaluate,” Gaetz added.
“We don’t want to resolve differences through violence but the Chinese communist party can pay every grifter but Donald Trump can’t pay Stormy Daniels without a legal dispute. There’s a legal element that’s not met by any evidence. They would have to prove that Donald Trump would have no reason other than the election to try to resolve this issue with Stormy Daniels privately and outside of the public sphere. I think a motion to dismiss will happen next. If this were ever to be tried, you could not do it in Manhattan. You would see a change of venue in upstate New York. Maybe it’s the only place Donald Trump could get a fair trial. I expect this will be resolved well before that by any court that looks at the way that the law is being tortured in the absence of any charge that would be maintainable against any human being on the Planet Earth other than Donald Trump and against Trump it’s clearly political,” he concluded.

Jacob Chansley, the so-called Jan 6th Shaman, has been released from prison 14 months early after video evidence which was withheld from the defense and the jury proved that he was escorted by police officers into the US Capitol.
It is not a crime to go in a place where the police help you to be when it is their job to guard said place.
The FBI and DOJ either knew or the complaining “witness”, that being Congress, deliberately obstructed and manufactured the alleged “crime” of which he was charged and convicted. Which it is has yet to be determined but that multiple members of the police force at the Capitol knew this had occurred and did nothing to interdict the unjust charge is documented fact. The only question at this point is which primary guilty party they were accessories before and after the fact to, not whether they were.
It will be quite interesting to see what comes out of this series of revelations, which quite-clearly aren’t over.
Malicious prosecution is a thing, and its a crime. It also exposes the actor(s) involved to both compensatory and punitive damages and when a government entity is involved the government employee’s near-absolute shield against same evaporates as malicious actions are not within their remit and thus their qualified immunity is pierced by such action.
Yes, that includes members of Congress along with the Capitol Police officers involved who knowingly did not come forward.
I suspect this will get quite-interesting as a whole lot of those people have little but people in Congress and government employees typically have quite a lot, and with only a few exceptions (the states around DC are not them either) your personal residence is not protected in a bankruptcy that results from such a judgment either.
And yes, I know his attorney says that his halfway house release is unrelated. It may well be, but that changes nothing in regard to whether he committed an actual offense. The other point, which might matter, is those who pled guilty. If the plea was coerced as the defendant knew there was exculpatory material and the government refused to provide it a fairly clean argument can be made that it was not freely entered into.
