Stop them, no, but potentially buy time with thicker glass or steel doors with windows too small to climb through.
I noticed the shooter stepped through the broken door instead of opening it. Since she was a former student, I wonder if she suspected that opening the door would trip the fire alarm. It will be interesting to see if the door alarms included sensors for broken glass.
I also wonder if the school was wired inside and out for gunfire detection such as Shot Spotter.
Very true.
So, within seconds, on these huge schools, u not only have to assemble AND orgaorganize your team, as they arrive individually. But then OTHER teams need to arrive and do the same. Then entry at different locations simultaneously
ARG!!!
Way inefficient on huge buildings.
Setting emotion BS arguments of the left aside, Pre-existing internal assets would help to be there as things develop. But, man...in every school in Merica, and hospital, and library, and....
Some REAL discouragement needs to happen to disuade these asshats that, we WILL capture you alive, and we WILL throw you live a$$ to parana, inch by inch, hot oil, or chuck you down a medieval oubliette to die slowly and PAINFULLY.
Bflr.
The outside doors were locked. The trans murderer shot its way through them.
Ex cop buddy says rather than gathering together at the end they should have continued checking for other shooters. You never should rely on reports of only one.
Otherwise welll done.
I watched the 6:17 video at DM. At 5:24 the 2nd group of cops going down the 2nd floor hallway step over a dead body on the floor that is mostly blurred out. Then he says “one down”.
Good job, men. I am so glad we will NOT waste millions on a trial with years of rescalding our minds for this selfish, mentally ill person.
Concur!
They heard it was a female shooter right from the beginning, so their fear factor went down. They knew their chance of survival was much higher. Sorry to speak truth, when truth is reviled.
I meant to add they did a great job though! I wasn’t disparaging them. Just talking about human nature.
Lot of interest in pistol caliber carbines, as of late.
Yes Sir!
And, correct me if I’m wrong, but did I see Rex doing some safety work on his AR as he prepared to move between rooms? If so, that’s some serious dude stuff. I’d be willing to bet Rex has some interesting time behind the trigger in far away lands.
That is chilling footage of how leisurely and calm, cool, and collectedly, the shooter is strolling the hallways looking for someone to shoot.
The police did an excellent job. This is how it’s supposed to be done as opposed to standing down for an hour while the shooter slaughters children at will.
I have never been in an actual firefight... I’ll take your word for it.
Yes, replace the motivation with extreme fear of consequences.
Unfortunately, the country isn’t ready for that yet...but it will come. Logic will need to return once things get too far out of hand. And when that time comes, it will be brutal unless we can start reversing out of this insanity slowly. But I doubt that slow reversal is realistic. I think in almost all cases the change has been swift and brutal.
That alarm may have had the benefit of masking the sounds of the incoming police officers for the shooter.
I agree about hating to listen to it, but God forbid they turn it off and someone thinks that means the danger is past and it’s all clear.
I’m guessing whoever it was at the front desk who saw the doors get blown in.
I have to disagree. There is no proof that ID of the shooter leads to more shootings. Even if a shooter references another shooter in the past, it doesn’t mean that is the reason they did it.
In a case like this I think it is more of a suicide by someone that also wanted to go out causing others pain like they pain they constantly feel because they are screwed up individuals.
