Germany has spent 2 Trillion Euro on Solar and Wind. California has spent 1/3rd that much.
California gets 5 times more energy from its investments because:
The sun shines and the wind blows in California. But, not in Germany.
Yes and in Hawaii where the sun almost always shines and trade winds blow constantly their renewable sector produces about 16.9% (Dec 2022) of their needs.
81.9% From petroleum
1.2% from hydro.
Solar energy % is also lifted by a large amount by solar hot water systems, which have been being installed since way before I moved there in ‘91, and have been mandated for I think about 15 years. Not doing those in a cold snowy climate.
