Today, we announced Microsoft 365 Copilot—your copilot for work. Copilot combines the power of large language models (LLMs) with your data in the Microsoft Graph—your calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and more—and the Microsoft 365 apps to turn your words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet. And it does so within our existing commitments to data security and privacy in the enterprise.
Right now, we spend too much time on the drudgery of work and too little time and energy on the work that ignites our creativity and sparks joy….
Copilot is integrated into Microsoft 365 in two ways. It works alongside you, embedded in the Microsoft 365 apps you use every day—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more—to unleash creativity, unlock productivity, and uplevel skills. Today, we’re also announcing an entirely new experience: Business Chat. Business Chat works across the LLM, the Microsoft 365 apps, and your data—your calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and contacts—to do things you’ve never been able to do before. You can give it natural language prompts like “tell my team how we updated the product strategy” and it will generate a status update based on the morning’s meetings, emails, and chat threads...

Regardless of what they are doing to soft-sell it, it’s all about eliminating workers. The permanently unemployed will have lots of leisure time, just not food or a roof over their head.
I use the office products from SoftMaker, a German company. Seems to be more MS compatible than the open source products like Open Office. It comes with a nominal price and works with Linux and Windows.
My pointy haired bosses will no doubt insist on having that software to bog down already bloated MS systems.
What ever happened to MS “Bob” ? Seemed like a good idea.....
I am retired, but when I need to do a spreadsheet or wordprocessing or desktop publishing, I use 97/98.
I can have the job done before I figure out how to use the ribbon menu Office items.
I’m sticking with my old faithful Office 2003, on my Windows 7 PC, thank you very much.
I am liking LibreOffice more and more.
It is definitely a heavy weight with a hefty learning curve.

“Does all the Microsoft 365 output often use verbs like ‘uplevel’?”
Yes they uptry to updo themselves.
Today, we are seeing apps with sophisticated AI, which have the potential to replace human critical thinking, human input, human cognition and human output. Where does it end?

You can buy NEW Windows 7 (even XP) desktops from NIXSYS in their “Legacy” line. They custom build them. I have mine all picked out and am about ready to place an order.
Somehow, I just can’t imagine a car with a “Bill Gates is my Copilot” bumper sticker...
I’d be ecstatic if they would squash the many bugs that have been piling up in 365 Excel on Mac. It’s a huge buggy mess.
Wake me up when it can automatically schedule and execute its own meetings automatically without requiring engineering staff who actually do work to have to attend them
I’ve been using “Base” in LibreOffice and am amazed at the capabilities. I was looking for a simple database like FileMaker used to be for everyday home tasks and could not find anything. Everything gets massively bloated through the years and then they switch to a subscription model so you need to fork out money every year.
I may have to begin exploring other modules in LibreOffice.

Three days ago I bought a new Windows 11 computer to replace my failing Vista machine. I just came back from returning that new computer. I hated it.
So I was thinking of getting a Windows 7 instead. But where? Then I saw your post. Thanks!
Yeah, the software would turn out something that reads like VP Harris speaks.
Maybe they will resurrect Clippy.
