Users report that read speeds from SSD have dramatically reduced after the newest Windows 11 update (Windows 11 Version 22H2 - KB5023706). While the few reported events were thought to be localized to the ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1 TB SSD, the issue is found to plague other manufacturers and can be fixed after uninstalling the update.
Windows 11 update slows SSDs during data transfers; Microsoft aware of the problem The newest Windows 11 update, which has the codename "Moment 2," is downloading to PCs starting today, with updates to quality of life and the integration of the ChatGPT-based Bing Chat into the search bar on the user's taskbar. However, the drive speed issue is apparent and appears to be a known issue with this newest update.
In one of the "Known Issues" on Microsoft's support site, the following appears:
"Copying large multiple gigabyte (GB) files might take longer than expected to finish on Windows 11, version 22H2. You are more likely to experience this issue copying files to Windows 11, version 22H2 from a network share via Server Message Block (SMB) but local file copy might also be affected.Windows devices used by consumers in their home or small offices are not likely to be affected by this issue."

I love the bing ai. It gives solid answers without needing to wade through a million websites.
“Sounds like MS is learning from Apple how to shove things down your throat and prevent you from having any say in how your computer runs.”
They’ve been trying to copy Apple for decades, but fortunately, they are rather incompetent at it, so they are only beginning to catch up with them.
One of my laptop is running lightening fast with Windows 7.
IE has been removed from Windows 10 and 11. Either this update or the one before. IE 11 is a buggy unsupported mess and no one should use it.
Bkmk
“IE has been removed from Windows 10 and 11”
Yes, it’s not an integrated part of the OS anymore, but it could still be installed and used prior to this latest update.
“...no one should use it.”
Well, that’s one opinion, but there are certain situations where people simply have no choice in the matter.
“>Does anyone actually use Edge? ... Only to download another browser.”
LOL!
Your situation is why this should have never happened...
This sounds like a replay of a very old issue.
“Does anyone actually use Edge?”
I used it all the time, works well. Only problem is I have Windows 8.1 and Edge informed me I have to Upgrade to 10 or higher, so it’s not sending me any updates. Can’t go higher my Dell can’t handle 11.
Only to download another browser right after the install of the OS.
After a negative experience of 22H2 with Explore Patcher etc. (required to fix MS negative "improvements") then I reverted back to 22H1 and prevented any upgrade for now. And for me, Linux would take more time for it to compare with such customization I do with Windows, if it could be.
Unfortunately you are correct. Even thought IE has more bugs than a Great Reset meal plan there are still some old sites that will only work on it.

Thanks for the feedback. I assumed it was just one more way for Microsoft to filter out any point of view that they disagreed with. But I will go ahead and give it a try.
That sounds familiar and reminiscent of how Microsoft tries to force everyone to migrate to Windows 10. I finally migrated my two Windows 7 laptops in the last couple of months after support was ended for 7. I am surprised how well they are handling Windows 10.
I actually feel fortunate that my primary laptop has a Rizen 5 2500u with 25 watt TDP. It handles Windows 11 with no problem even in Windows 10 Pro's Virtual environment with no GPU support. But for some inexplicable reason Microsoft decreed that it is not compatible with Windows 11. My wife's laptop has an I5 8250u which in some ways is inferior to the 2500u yet she gets constant nags all the time. I guess that I will consider myself lucky.
It actually gave the right answer about cops killed on j6. Where as chatgpt implies 5 cops were killed.
