SInglemalt scotch is always a winner-—but if somebody else is buying, who am I to look a giftbottle in the cork?
That said, there is nothing at all wrong with a good beer.
A good stout or IPA is fine with me. My experience with Scotch was when I tasted something like whisky after several days of cigarette butts macerating in it. There may be good Scotch but what I had was horrible. As far as regular, I’m okay with a good bourbon. Evan a cheap one like Evan Williams Bottled in Bond or Wild Turkey. Full flavored. And potent.
Come to think of it, I did have some Monkey Shoulder that was drinkable. I forgot about that one.
