Your assumption (and that’s what it is) is badly flawed. Abortion rates have come down in this country in the last 40 years. During that same time, unwed motherhood has gone up. Way up. We better get our minds right as a society on this or we are headed for trouble. Husbands are not a luxury for a mother.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned adoption, but, that should be encouraged, if too young teenagers have an unplanned pregnancy.
It’s not an either/or choice, of being a single mother or getting an abortion. There are other choices that can be made which don’t involve aborting the baby.
