The number of mushers are down this year do to high price of dog food and fuel prices to haul it out to check points. PETA is is just a pain and does not help animals.

Anyone who has ever owned a Siberian Husky or other Arctic breed knows how much they LOVE the cold and that they also LOVE to run and pull things. If PETA is concerned about sled dogs running and pulling sleds in the cold, then they know nothing about these amazing dogs.
i will bet not a single one of these PeTA tyrants has EVER dealt with a working breed dog. Especially Huskies and Malamutes. The dogs LOVE this stuff.
